Hillsborough Leisure Centre will now be refurbished. This decision, to be confirmed on October 19, reverses previous demolition and rebuild plans which would have seen it closed for 2 years.

Sheffield Swift Network is trying to make our city a place where swifts can continue to breed and return year after year. A visit to Five Rivers Cohousing showed me why they're losing their nesting places and how we can help.

Temporary traffic lights at Hillsborough Corner at 9.10 Friday morning. Holme Lane was gridlocked on the north side with big queues feeding in from Stannington Road struggling to get on to the gyratory.

Your local councillors who continue to seek updates from Sheffield Council Traffic Control and Streets Ahead which will be shared here when received. We will keep pushing for improved temporary traffic light phasing and a speedy resolution to the intermittent faults we were told had been solved about 2 weeks ago.

The drop in at Courtside Hillsborough is an opportunity to talk to council officers about any of the proposals in detail. There are a lot of of proposals and the council will only be able to fund some of them. The consultation gives local residents the opportunity to say which proposals are the most useful that you think should be prioritised.

A link to the consultation is in comments.

Watch out for the early 7pm kick off tomorrow with the match due to end about 8.55pm. The crowd for this cup match is unlikely to be be the 34,000 now attending league matches. But it still could be quite big and busy on the roads with cheap tickets for home fans and a lot of travelling Sunderland fans.

Watch the club's residents pages for ongoing information on match day road closures, etc.: https://www.swfc.co.uk/hillsborough/residents-matchday-information-1e7186ff
