Fire and Security Engineer

Job Summary
We are looking for a semi- to fully experienced Fire & Security Engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems across commercial and industrial sites. You will ensure all work complies with British Standards and Health & Safety regulations, providing a high-quality service to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Service & Maintenance: Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules.
* Reactive Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair fire and security system faults within Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
* Installation: Assist with small- to medium-sized system installations.
* Compliance: Ensure systems comply with BS5839 (Fire), BS50131 (Intruder), and relevant access control regulations.
* Reporting: Complete detailed service reports, risk assessments, and documentation.
* Call-out Rota: There is currently no call-out rota; however, this may change in the future.
Required Skills & Experience
* Experience: Minimum of 3+ years’ experience as a Fire & Security Engineer. A Level 3 qualification is desirable.
* Technical Skills: Proven knowledge of IP and analogue CCTV, access control systems (e.g. Paxton, Win-Pak), and intruder alarms.
* Fire Knowledge: Good understanding of commercial fire alarm systems.
* Licences: Full UK driving licence (essential).
* Certifications: CSCS/ECS card or IPAF preferred.
What We Offer
* Salary: Competitive salary of £30,000–£35,000, negotiable depending on experience.
* Overtime: Paid at 1.5x–2x rates.
* Call-out: Currently no call-out requirement. If introduced, a standby rate will be paid, plus overtime for hours worked.
* Vehicle: Company van, fuel card, and phone/iPad provided.
* Benefits: 29 days’ holiday (including statutory days).
