One last chance to buy tickets for the event I ve organised at the Ropetackle Arts Centre on 13th September before I cancel it through poor ticket sales. If I ve sold another 20 tickets by Monday it can go ahead. Perhaps it’s still holiday season? Hello! The Shoreham Elves are out of hibernation and are busily starting to plan for this year's Light Up Shoreham event, which will be on Friday 11 December.

If you're interested in having a stall at the event, the window for expressions of interest is NOW OPEN! 🥳🥳🥳

Please contact the Council Events team on [email protected], with information about the kinds of products that you sell, and whether you would need a
single (2.5m x 2.5m) or double (2.5m x 5m) stall at the event.

The window for expressing interest will be open until *9 September*.

Please note that only the Council can advise on stall allocation - please don't message this page or email the LUS inbox about stalls (we will be glad to help with other questions about the event, though!); you need to contact [email protected].

There will be a minute’s silence at the Shoreham Artisans’ Market today at 11am to remember the four members of the same family who so tragically lost their lives following Tuesday’s incident at Shoreham Beach.

We will remember Hassan El-Khawas, 55, Zeina Alayn, 37, their daughter Sara El-Khawas, 14, and six-year-old Saja El-Khawas, who sadly died in hospital yesterday.

This has been a devastating tragedy that has touched our whole community. I hope people at the market will join us for a moment of quiet reflection, to remember Hassan, Zeina, Sara and Saja and to hold their wider family and loved ones in our thoughts.

Thank you to everyone for all your messages of support.

Our thoughts are with the family and friends and all those affected by this tragic loss.

Our lifeboat station and shop will remain closed to visitors until Monday (24 August) and our open evening at the Shoreham Banking Hub on Thursday (20 August) has been cancelled.

Absolutely devastating news for our Shoreham community. My thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have lost their lives, and with the young girl who is in hospital. Holding everyone who is affected in my thoughts.

Adur & Worthing Councils have announced a new Local Council Community Fund, which is expected to open in September 2026. More information, including eligibility and how to apply, will be released soon.
