A great turn out today in Orpington supporting our friends at the Orpington Sea Cadets and RBL.

Today is a day of world significance, marks the end of World War Two. But for our civilian and armed forces POWs it meant freedom.

We remember all those who served and also those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Today, to honour our fallen and those who returned home both civilian and service personnel, members of the RNA attended two short services at the Sidcup War Memorial and the FEPOW (Far East Prisoner of War) Memorial in Danson Park to mark the commemoration and the 80th Anniversary of the End of WW2.

Both events were attended by our members including our veterans of the Royal Navy including our Falklands Veteran.

Bexley will always support and remember our veterans and serving forces.

We were pleased to be joined by the Deputy Lieutenant David Easton and local Cllrs and MP.

The Sidcup Royal Naval Association meet in Sidcup twice a month, supporting our current serving sailors, our veterans and those associated with the Service especially our Sea Cadet cousins.

Ita a great bunch who enjoy a few tots, a few tales and a good night. There are social events too to keep the family together.
