Donāt forget about tomorrowās walk through Sleafordās fascinating milling history.
Starting at the Handley Monument on Southgate at 10am, the walk explores the lost watermills of Quarrington, Millthorpe and Sleaford, as well as the changing course of the River Slea.
The walk finishes at Cogglesford Watermill at around 12 noon, where the mill will be open and milling especially for the day. Youāll be able to see our millers grinding stoneground flour and find out more about the traditional techniques that have been used for centuries.
You can also stay for a coffee in the cafƩ and pick up some locally milled flour to take home.
Meet at the Handley Monument, Southgate. No booking required. The route is mostly on tarmacked paths and is suitable for adults, children and well-behaved dogs on leads.
