Solihull Borough Conservatives

Thank you to everyone who gave up their Saturday to knock on doors in Castle Bromwich.
We asked residents where more patrols, CCTV or better lighting would help. Their answers will shape what we press the police for.
If you want to complete our survey you can do so here: https://www.solihullconservatives.org.uk/castle-bromwich-local-crime-survey

Today, we have written to Solihull Council's Monitoring Officer re Cllrs Campbell, Feeney and Whelan.

HATRED HAS NO PLACE IN SOLIHULL.

No excuses. No brushing this under the carpet.

Solihull Borough Conservatives are shocked and appalled by the behaviour of Cllrs Feeney, Whelan and Campbell, filmed by ITV and reported this evening.

We are calling for all three councillors to resign from Solihull Council immediately.

This evening, Reform UK Solihull issued a statement condemning the comments of Feeney and Whelan, while dismissing Campbell's comments as a "joke in poor taste" and confirming that no further action will be taken.

That response is simply not good enough.

Reform UK had been made aware of these comments, yet failed to take decisive action.

Leaving Reform by mutual consent is not accountability. Dismissing offensive comments as a joke is not leadership.

Public office is a privilege, not an entitlement.

The people of Solihull deserve representatives who uphold the highest standards of decency, integrity and respect.

All three must resign. Hatred has no place in our borough.

Four Reform UK councillors have now quit their group at Solihull Council since being elected in May.

At the Green Party Conference just over a week ago, a motion declaring Zionism to be Racism was passed as party policy.

Since then, many Solihull residents and members of the Jewish community have contacted us with serious concerns.

Last week, the Conservative Group on Solihull Council wrote to Green Group Leader Cllr McLoughlin seeking clarity on his Group’s position.

✡️ SOLIHULL CONSERVATIVES STAND WITH OUR JEWISH COMMUNITY
Our message to Solihull’s Jewish community is clear: we stand with you.

We are deeply concerned that the Green Party has adopted an anti-Zionist position as party policy, following the passage of its “Zionism is Racism” motion at its national conference.
We firmly disagree.

We welcome Cllr Alison Wilson and former Cllr Shesh Sheshabhatter publicly stating their disagreement with the motion.

Now we call on the Solihull Green Group to make their position clear, and, if they disagree with this policy, to lobby their national party leadership to withdraw it.
That call has particular significance today, as we mark three years since the Hamas-led attacks of 7 October 2023, when around 1,200 people were killed and 251 taken hostage.

🔵 Solihull Conservatives stand against antisemitism and all forms of racism. We stand in solidarity with our Jewish community, and we call on Solihull Greens to make clear where they stand.
