Temperature in the workplace

With an increase in temperatures this week, everyone is asking how to cope with the heat. 🥵☀️

The Health and Safety Executive have produced guidance for workplaces where heat stress is an issue all year, for places such as bakeries and foundries. However, it can also help employers protect their workers in very hot weather where there may be an increased risk of heat stress.

⚠️Product Recall for Squeezy Dumplings.

The product presents a serious chemical risk because the outer layer contains an excess concentration of benzene. If inhaled, benzene can cause irritation to the eyes, nose and throat. Exposure to large amounts may also cause a burning feeling throughout the digestive tract and skin irritation. Improvements are also required to product labelling and marking.

The products have been recalled from customers by Samsons Cash and Carry Ltd.

Anyone with this product should stop using it immediately and keep it out of reach of children. ⚠️

Pre-Book: Pre-book your rides, with a private hire operator

Always used Licensed Vehicles: Only get into licensed Hackney Carriages (which can be flagged down) or pre-booked private hire vehicles. Check that the vehicle has taxi licensing plates.

Never get into an unmarked car.

Check your Driver’s details: Before getting into the taxi, ensure the driver's photo ID badge is visible and check that their details match your booking.

Confirm it’s the vehicle that you have booked: Always ask the driver, "Who are you here to pick up?"
