Last year, residents told us that our website was difficult to navigate, lacked important information, and generally wasn't meeting expectations. We agreed that improvements were needed.

Since then, we have been working closely with https://www.greenfieldsites.co.uk/ to create a modern, user-friendly website that better serves our community.

As well as making Council information easier to find and navigate, we have expanded our community section. In particular, we have introduced a What's On page, where residents, community groups, and visitors can add events themselves, creating a comprehensive and up-to-date calendar of local activities happening in Swanmore.

We hope the new website will become a valuable resource for everyone who lives in, works in, or visits our community.

It’s Volunteers Week. A national annual campaign running from the 1st to 7th June. The week is dedicated to celebrating the millions of people who generously give their time to charities and community groups.

We have an army of volunteers in Swanmore; our Conservation Group volunteered 165 hours of work in 2025, our Care Group cooked over 1200 meals and travelled over 1800 miles taking people to doctor and hospital appointments.

A team of 60 volunteers keeps Barnabys coffee shop running and a squad of 24 litter pickers come out every week to keep the village tidy.

These generous people are just a snap shot of those people in the village who volunteer. We have community groups, clubs and organisations full of people giving their time.

Please comment below if you would like to show your support to any volunteer/s in particular.

At last week’s Annual Parish Meeting, we discussed a number of priorities and projects for the coming year, including:

* a grant-funded, village-wide speed survey to provide data that can help influence the Police, Hampshire Highways, and planning authorities in relation to existing and future housing developments
* launching a Community Speed Watch programme
* extending and improving the layout of the New Road Playing Field car park to help address parking and safety concerns along that stretch of New Road
* additional street lighting on New Road
* resurfacing the village centre car park
* investigating opportunities for Parish Council-owned social housing

These priorities have been shaped by feedback, conversations and comments we receive throughout the year. We would now like to gather more detailed views through a village-wide survey.

Please take a few moments to share your feedback on the issues that matter most to you. Your responses will help guide and shape the Parish Council’s future priorities and work for the village.
