It’s 82 years since our brave soldiers landed in Normandy to liberate Europe from fascism.

Southampton has a proud history in this moment, with up to two-thirds of the initial assault troops sailing from our city. We also had more than 3.5 million soldiers, from all places and backgrounds, that passed through our city between D-Day and the end of the war.

Today, we remember them and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

Hi all.

The next litter pick is booked for Sunday 28th
June 2026 at 12 noon (for about an hour) meeting by the park on Lawn Road.

Don’t forget sturdy gloves, and we will bring pickers, hoops and bags. Please tell your neighbours about this.

We can have a chat afterwards and talk about next steps to enhance this area.

It will also be a great chance to see the new play equipment at the Lawn Rd Play Park.
See you soon.

Thanks Satvir for coming out to Portswood today to offer support to everyone!

There were big problems with potential sewage outflow near Quay 2000 last week.
I reported to SW. Today their contractors attended, making investigations and taking samples.
I have fed back to their regionsl managers about the delays and lack of urgency in dealing with the issue.
I'll send through updates when i get them.

I ve been listening to a few of these SALIX "Decarbonisation Dialogue", podcasts, since being invited to contribute to one of them a couple of months ago. They are about 30 mins long. I think they're very good.

In this one, I'm interviewed, discussing my personal background, my passion for the environment and the challeges of getting to net-zero in Southampton.

Have a listen and please Share if you like what you hear.
The other podcasts are also very good.
