Tomorrow we unite to stand up against the housing crisis!

We need rent controls, not 20% annual rent hikes. We need public housing, not luxury flats and temporary accommodation!

Together, we have the power to win.

📣 Are you a shared ownership homeowner, or thinking about buying a shared ownership property within the next year?

We’re working with Content Design London to develop more specific advice on shared ownership.

Take part in an online interview with a user researcher to share your experience – what works well, the challenges you’ve faced, and what advice or support would be most useful.

We’re particularly interested in topics such as affordability, staircasing, lease extensions, service charges, repairs, selling shared ownership, and researching the buying process.

Participants will receive a £30 thank-you payment for taking part.

⚠️ Please note: this is research only – we won’t be able to provide advice during the interview.

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/pm-were-capping-ground-rents-at-250

“The draft Bill will now move into pre-legislative scrutiny, expected to be carried out by the HCLG Select Committee. Subject to parliamentary timings, the ground rent cap could come into force in late 2028.”

PM caps ground rents at £250 a year in game-changing shake up of leasehold system and to support families with the cost of living.

10/01/2026

We ask the Government to abolish ground rent for all existing residential leasehold properties in England and Wales. Ground rent is an outdated and, we believe, unfair charge that provides no service or benefit to leaseholders.
