🔶️ STATEMENT 🔶️

We, like many other students in St Andrews, disagree with Reform UK. We also believe very strongly in the right to freedom of expression for all members of our community, including those with whom we disagree.

We intend to defeat Reform through the strength of our arguments, not by attempting to silence them. The intimidation that the new Reform society has been subject to is unacceptable and we unreservedly condemn it. We will always condemn attempts to disrupt society events and attempts to deny affiliation with the Union based on political beliefs. Robust debate is vital for freedom of expression; intimidation is wrong.

All societies should be able to meet in peace and debate those with whom they disagree with respect.

We shall oppose Reform, often vehemently, but will always do so respectfully and will never seek to intimidate or silence them.

🔶️ 🗣 Come along to our joint debate with STAUCA! The motions are:
1. TH would rejoin the EU.
2. TH believes the Lib Dems are Scotland's only Unionist choice.
3. TH would enter into coalition again.

The debate is hosted by STAUCA and will be held in St Mark's Parish Church Hall at 8pm on Thursday 12th of February.

Port will be provided.

In addition, Aikman's is booked after the conclusion of the debates. 🍻 🔶️

Dress code: jacket & tie or equivalent.

The entry fee is £6 for STAUCA members and £10 for non-members.

🔶️ Our committee had the opportunity to canvas with Ed Davey and Wendy Chamberlain this past week.

We enjoyed discussing student politics and how we can achieve Lib Dems success in upcoming elections and races in pumpkin patches!! 🔶️
