A recent upsetting admission we had was this poor Robin completely stuck to a glue trap.

Luckily, after a lot of careful effort our volunteers, were able to free it from the glue and gently clean the residue from its feathers over time until, to our relief, we were able to see it through to being released back into the wild.

But not all creatures are so lucky. Glue traps are inhumane, causing prolonged distress and suffering - it’s horrible to see anything caught in one. There’s a reason the Scottish government banned these traps and hopefully one day England will also make it a criminal offence to supply or use them. 🤞

A huge thank you to Reboot IT For All

We are incredibly grateful to REBOOT IT for ALL for their generous donation of a laptop, monitor and Samsung tablet for us to use here at the hospital. 🙏

The laptop we had been using was very old and incredibly slow, so having this new equipment will make such a difference to us. The tablet will also allow us to take digital donations onsite, which is becoming increasingly important as fewer people carry cash with them.

Your support will make a real difference and we are so thankful for your generosity. ❤️

REBOOT IT for ALL is a not-for-profit organisation working to bridge the digital divide by repurposing donated technology and getting it into the hands of those who need it most.

We would like to introduce you to Daniel Cope our first Wildlife Ambassador!

Daniel Cope is the Director of Green Lark Environmental Solutions and a
Chartered Environmentalist with more than two decades of experience
helping organisations develop sustainable, resilient strategies. His
work focuses on translating climate impacts into practical action for
businesses and communities. As the British Wildlife Rescue Centre’s
first Wildlife Ambassador, Dan will support the charity in building
stronger commercial relationships, whilst raising awareness of how
extreme weather is increasing pressure on British wildlife. His role
brings together climate science, organisational responsibility, and the
urgent need to protect local biodiversity.

We are so happy and honoured to have Dan on board and hes already been such an asset to our charity. Please do go and check out his fundraiser below and show him some support 🐾

It was weigh day for our little Barn Owl chick today. He was just 150g when he arrived, and as you can see, he’s gaining weight beautifully! He’s making great progress and is now self-feeding, which is exactly what we want. Our contact with him is kept to an absolute minimum so we can avoid imprinting and give this little one the very best chance of growing up wild and eventually being returned to where he belongs.

On Monday, we admitted this tiny leveret after it was found with a wound to its side and a severe fly strike and maggot infestation.

Leverets are incredibly sensitive and can be very difficult to hand-rear. Combined with the shock of an injury, we have to be very cautious about its outlook.

Thankfully, for now, we’re seeing some encouraging signs. The wound is healing, and this little one has settled into feeding with its experienced foster carer.
