π A Busy Christmas for Tyndrum Fire Station π
After what had been a quiet month for the crew at Tyndrum Fire Station, we responded to four call outs over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Our first call came at 13.00 on Christmas Eve, assisting the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Later that evening, at 19:43, we were paged to make up extra crews at an incident in Connel, near Oban. With clear roads, we caught up with our colleagues from Inveraray around 30 minutes later, then whilst we were near Fearnoch both crews were stood down and returned to base, with our team back in their respective homes around 21:15.
After settling down and starting the usual Christmas preparations with our families, the crew were paged once again at 23:30, returning to assist at the incident in Connel. We monitored the scene for a period of time, ensuring there were no further flare-ups. The crew eventually returned home around 04:45 with some of the team fairly sure they spotted Santa Claus on the way home (or perhaps they were just very tired and napping in the back seatsβ¦)
Following a few hours' sleep, early morning wake-up calls from excited children, sofa naps, and family dinners, the team were paged again at 20:41 on Christmas Day to attend a fire in a roof structure. We were joined by Killin Fire Station, and after ensuring there were no further issues at the incident, we returned to station by 22:04, where we refilled the appliance with water ready for any further action.
It's been a busy couple of days for the team, but we'd like to wish everyone a safe and Merry Christmas, and to say thank you for all the support throughout the year.
