A huge thank you to everyone who very kindly dropped off donations at the station this morning! ❤️🚒

🔥 Tintwistle Moor Wildfire: Please Help Protect Our Countryside 🔥

The devastation at Tintwistle Moor continues as firefighters work tirelessly to tackle a major wildfire that has already destroyed hundreds of acres of precious moorland. Wildlife habitats have been lost, the landscape has been scarred, and crews remain committed to protecting homes, infrastructure and the environment. (Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service)

As the weather stays hot and dry, it only takes one spark to start another devastating fire.

❌ Please do not:
🔥 Use disposable barbecues or light campfires on moorland.
🚬 Drop ci******es or matches.
🗑️ Leave litter behind, especially glass bottles, which can focus sunlight.
🚗 Park on dry grass where hot exhausts can ignite vegetation.

✅ If you see a fire:
📞 Move to a place of safety and call 999 immediately.
📍 Give the clearest location you can and never put yourself at risk.

Let’s all do our part to protect our countryside and support the firefighters working around the clock to bring this incident under control.

Here's a reminder about safety in and around open water as temperatures continue to rise 🌡️

Rivers, lakes, reservoirs and quarry’s may look inviting but there are many hidden dangers. They also remain extremely cold even in high summer, cold enough to trigger cold water shock.

Please remember these important safety messages:
💧 Alcohol and drugs do not mix with swimming
💧 Never leave children unattended near water
💧 Choose to swim at purpose-built and supervised areas, such as swimming pools or beaches with lifeguards
💧If you do find yourself in difficulty in water,

Visit our website for more safety advice and share these messages with your family and friends so we can all stay safe around open water!

It's feeling hot out there 🥵

We're urging everyone to act sensibly, stay alert and stay safe during the heatwave as Met Office and UK Health Security Agency alerts remain in place.

High temperatures and prolonged dry conditions can increase the risk of fires and water related incidents, so please follow our safety advice whether staying at home or venturing outdoors.

☀️ Enjoying the sunshine this weekend?

With warmer weather across Staveley, many of us will be spending more time outdoors, firing up the BBQ, relaxing in the garden, or heading out with family and friends.

A few simple reminders can help keep everyone safe:

🔥 Never leave a BBQ unattended
🔥 Keep BBQs well away from fences, sheds and dry grass
🔥 Dispose of ci******es carefully and never throw them from vehicle windows
🔥 Keep children and pets away from hot BBQs

Let’s enjoy the sunshine safely and help prevent accidental fires in our community.

Have a great weekend from all of us at Staveley Fire Station.

Today, crews from Staveley Fire Station took part in a joint training exercise with South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue at Graves Park in Sheffield.

The exercise focused on pumping operations and cross-border working, giving firefighters from both services the opportunity to train together, share knowledge, and strengthen the partnerships that help us respond effectively when incidents cross county boundaries.

It was also a special day for our station as our wholetime crew officially welcomed their new Enhanced Rescue Vehicle into service. This brand-new appliance brings additional capabilities to support a wide range of emergency incidents and represents a significant investment in protecting our communities.

We captured a unique photograph showing three generations of fire appliances that have served the station over the years, highlighting how firefighting equipment and technology continue to evolve while our commitment to the community remains the same.
