Cave of Wonders at The Settle Inn

Cave of Wonders at The Settle Inn Stirling's own CBGB, showcasing talent from the local community and the student body together on the last Saturday of every month at The Settle Inn.

In an attempt to find a platform in Stirling for up-and-coming performers, ready to take the next step after the open mic circuit, The Cave of Wonders has been free of cliques, fashion, trend and genre-bias since its beginnings in the Spring of 2012. Since then, we've seen hard rock bands, whimsical folk, stand-up comedy, country, ska, blues, punk, reggae and trad folk - with the occasional poetry

reading thrown in for good measure. Everything and anyone is welcome. It's a showcase, not an open mic, with several acts of high quality playing full sets each month, with no admission charge. Not the same old sh*t. Soon to be featured in a BBC documentary - so come along next time to find out why they thought we were worth taking a look at.

Just a wee Christmas Eve update on last Saturday's Cave for Cancer Research, and some photo evidence to prove we didn't spend all your money on donuts...

We went to Stirling's CR shop and used our £350 to buy a very cute framed pencil sketch of Winnie the Pooh that we will hang in the pub very soon. We signed up for Gift Aid which pumps up our total donated to Cancer Research to the £450 mark, give or take!

So once again, thank you all for everything! That £450 raised via punk rock, playing kazoos, munching mince pies and making jokes about dead husbands, will go towards finding a cure and new ways to fight that evil s**t of a disease in 2017 and beyond.

Next time you're in the pub, have a look out for our new wee picture hanging, and think about this little adventure and our attempt to show 2016 that it didn't finish us off.

Now away and enjoy yourself a very Merry Christmas or however you choose to spend the next few days. We love you all.

All the last drips and drabs are in, have been counted and we're super happy to announce that this past Saturday at the Christmas Cave of Wonders, we raised £350 for Cancer Research.

Thank you so much to everyone that performed and donated! You're all amazing and we love you.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas, and if you want to see Cancer Research open a big ol' can of whoop-ass all over Cancer's worthless carcass in 2017, gimme a HELL YEAH.

Thank you all so much for turning out this past Saturday for CaveMas! Thank you to all the bands and performers, who came from near and far! It was a great night, and we raised a buttload of cash for Cancer Research! We'll have our "F**K CANCER" donation buckets out again at The Settle Open Mic tonight, and we'll keep you posted for our final amount raised once that's added, probably tomorrow evening!

One more time : THANK YOU and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

This page has been getting neglected for a bit too long I think... to make up for it, here's a small photo album of moments from the last year or so in The Cave of Wonders. 2016 has gotten off to a pretty great start, so let's keep it going. There's something pretty great happening at The Settle Inn almost every night of the week, but our next Cave of Wonders will be February 27th. Mark it doon now.

Photos from the last few Cave of Wonders nights at The Settle... these are a bit all over the place from the last year, because of some technical issues, but there you go.
