🎉 CAMPAIGN WIN!

This morning, we’ve been out on Boldmere Road letting residents know that the parking charge increase at Sutton Coldfield Station has been scrapped! 🚉

Following Cllr Charlotte Fieldhouse’s petition, backed by more than 900 residents, Mayor Richard Parker has reversed the decision, originally taken in 2023 under Andy Street, to increase charges to £3 a day.

Thank you to everyone who signed, shared and supported our campaign. Community action gets results. 🌹

Morning, Sutton Vesey!

WMCA and the Mayor have confirmed a reversal of the Sutton Coldfield station parking price increase.

We are absolutely delighted. This is exactly what community action is about — organising people who care, speaking up and getting things done.

And we’re especially pleased to share the news with our neighbours around Wylde Green Station, who we’ve been out speaking to this week. Maybe let them have their morning cuppa first… ☕😂

The team that gets stuff done. ✅

An increase ot parking charges at a key site will be reversed after just two weeks it has been confirmed

We’ve now spoken directly to Mayor Richard Parker and shared our petition with him.

He was shocked to discover that parking charges at Sutton Coldfield Station were being increased to £3 a day, and has agreed to look into it.

The decision was taken in 2023, before Labour's Richard Parker became Mayor, under the previous Conservative administration.

So while Andrew Mitchell and the Conservatives have been trying to blame Labour for the increase, we are doing what residents expect us to do: putting the politics aside, taking the issue directly to the person who can act, and asking him to scrap the increase.
