Spring to Summer Beds Turnover!
We wanted to give you a behind-the-scenes snapshot at the work that goes on at our parks. Over the past few weeks, the Town Gardens team have changed the beds from Spring to Summer arrangements. That’s why they’ve gone from colourful spring flowers to bare soil to new greenery.
A few weeks ago, the team removed the Spring flowers from all the beds, those flowers have been put into compost to be recycled back into the garden. The team then turned over and raked the soil, prepping it for the new arrangements. They had the delivery of 18,840 plants and flowers! Including the banana trees you can see planted in front of the bandstand – if the weather were tropical year round we’d have bananas in the Town Gardens. They then got to work planting them for eveyone to enjoy. The gardeners also design all the bed arrangements themselves!
