Thank you to everyone who has sent messages and support. I am extremely proud that I ran a campaign that was always true to who I am and true to Labour values. I’m also proud that on a day of such losses, I held the vote.

But my biggest thanks goes to the people of Fife North East who opened their arms when we needed a home and have welcomed us in. Your messages tonight have made me even prouder to have stood as your representative.

Finally, congratulations to .rennie on his win. I know he will work hard for the constituency. (And PS … his suit was heather, not plum)

Now I’m relaxing in the only way a Geordie should … a pint, peanuts and pals and I’m a happy girl
