Friday Feedback from a private client
“I am really grateful for the support and guidance Susan provided during a challenging time for my family. Susan suggested and connected us to the appropriate resources and monitored and reviewed if any were having a positive impact or not. I was involved in decisions and the family were treated with respect and kindness. I felt comfortable raising any concerns or suggestions and found the experience positive and supportive. Susan always made sure my uncle’s care, well-being and finances were at the forefront of any decisions made.”

As an independent social worker, I provide support, assessment, and guidance for individuals and families navigating complex care, dementia, mental capacity, and best-interest decisions—helping people feel informed, supported, and heard during difficult times. Contact me for a FREE informal chat.

“I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing…”

That’s something I hear often from people caring for an elderly parent or loved one.
They’re trying to juggle appointments, decisions, finances, and future planning while quietly worrying:

• Am I missing something important?
• Are there benefits we should be receiving?
• How do we plan for what’s coming next?

For many carers, it’s not just the practical side that feels overwhelming…
It’s the pressure of responsibility. Wanting to get it right. Wanting the best care possible. And often feeling like navigating a complicated system alone.
But caring shouldn’t feel this overwhelming.
Imagine this instead:
✔ Knowing exactly what support and benefits your loved one is entitled to
✔ Having a clear, realistic plan for future care
✔ Feeling confident in the decisions you’re making
✔ Having more time and energy to simply be with your loved one

That’s where I can help.
I provide clear, independent, and person-centred advice so families can better understand their options, plan ahead, and feel more informed and supported.

If you’re supporting someone and feeling unsure about what to do next, start with a simple conversation.

I offer a free, friendly, informal chat — no pressure, just clarity and support.
Because you shouldn’t have to figure this out on your own.

Friday Feedback from a private client in a caring role
“I would just like to say thank you again for all your support. I feel that it’s been a positive experience and helped me cope with the next phase of my loved one’s dementia. Having a professional, independent view reinforced what I thought, but it was lovely to feel that you were also my loved one’s advocate. I wasn’t alone in my thinking — and for that support I really am grateful.”

If you’d like to connect or talk through a situation involving someone you care about, I’d be happy to have an informal conversation.

Social work has taught me that meaningful care begins when we take the time to truly see the person in front of us—not just their diagnosis or current challenges, but the whole life they’ve lived.

I’ll never forget a client I once worked with—a former SAS officer. His physical strength and resilience were unmistakable, even as dementia gradually took hold. What stayed with me wasn’t simply his condition, but his story: a life of service, discipline, identity, and purpose that still shone through.

It was a powerful reminder that person-centred care starts with understanding who somebody is—not just what support they need.

🧠 A diagnosis doesn’t erase a history.
💬 A behaviour doesn’t define a person.
❤️ Good care is never one-size-fits-all.

As an independent social worker, I provide support, assessment, and guidance for individuals and families navigating complex care, dementia, mental capacity, and best-interest decisions—helping people feel informed, supported, and heard during difficult times.

If you’d like to connect or talk through a situation involving someone you care about, I’d be happy to have an informal conversation.

Friday Feedback
Here’s what a private client shared after receiving my support:
“I appreciated your thoughtful reflection on my concerns and how clearly you outlined my options. It was refreshing to receive independent, unbiased advice. Being able to talk through how to realistically navigate the system—and improve Mum’s care—made a real difference.”

If you’re supporting someone and feeling unsure about what to do next, start with a simple conversation.

I offer a free, friendly, informal chat — no pressure, just clarity and support.
