Haringey! 📢 Do you know a community group with a great idea for a sustainability project? 💡

They might be eligible for the Haringey Community Carbon Fund, offering grants of £1,000-50,000 for decarbonisation projects. The council is on the lookout for community projects that will help reduce Haringey’s emissions and tackle the climate emergency. ♻️

Join The Community Worlds next Monday, 12 October for their upcycling workshop and give your old textiles a new life! 🧵

At the friendly, hands-on workshop you can learn practical sewing skills and get creative, too. Get the chance to turn unwanted fabrics into tote bags, cushion covers, door stoppers, napkins, organisers and more. 🪡

No matter your sewing experience, everyone is welcome to come along, create and connect. ❤️

Bring any old clothes, fabric scraps, buttons, zips, ribbons or other textiles you no longer use.

We're proud to have achieved the National Autistic Society Neuroinclusive Access Gold Award in celebration of our impactful practices to provide a more inclusive, understanding and supportive service for neurodivergent people.

It comes after we co-designed a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) programme with schools in north London to ensure all students can access our education offer at EcoPark House in Edmonton, which is linked to the circular economy and waste.

We’re delighted to announce that spring term bookings for primary AND secondary schools are now open! 🥳

Schools can now sign up for our engaging and curriculum-linked sessions at EcoPark House, running from January to March 2027. 🌿

Spaces are limited and fill up quickly, so early booking is strongly recommended to secure your preferred date. Due to popular demand, we can only allow one visit per school each term. 📝

Applications close on 2 October for the North London Student Sustainability Conference at EcoPark House. ♻️

On 19 November, teams of year nine students from across north London will join the conference to present their waste prevention action plans. 👩‍🎓

Students will get to hear from guest speakers and the winning school will take home a £1000 grant! 💷

More than 5,000 north London schoolchildren and teachers have shown they are In The Know about waste prevention after cutting the amount of rubbish thrown in the bin by nearly 60 per cent.

13 primary schools completed our innovative education programme during the 2025/26 academic year, featuring in-school assemblies, training on how to reduce food waste and staff away days.

Get your embroidery on! 🪡🌹

The embroiderers at Bernie Grant Arts Centre have shared some pictures of their beautiful creations – and now it’s your turn! 🧵

Next Tuesday, 22 September, the centre is hosting a FREE embroidery workshop inspired by the works of Althea McNish. 🌻 At ‘Flow State in The Tropics’ you can add your own personal flair to an old item of clothing, giving it a new lease of life! 👗

Two great successes with the first workshops in our nature connection series, co-housted friends at SHAK (South Hampstead and Kilburn Community Partnership). 🤩

The first workshop saw participants making beautiful cyanotype prints, creating art from leaves and other natural materials. 🎨🌿The second workshop was a guided tree walk, where participants learned about the wonderful array of plants and trees that can be found even in urban environments. 🌲🪴

The workshops are focused on nature connection, which means engaging proactively and mindfully with nature in our day-to-day lives. Research shows nature connection not only encourages people to take up more eco-friendly habits, but can help improve their sense of mental wellbeing. 🧘‍♀️
