If you live in Wiltshire and are worried about the cost of heating oil this winter, help may be available through a Crisis and Resilience Fund-funded scheme.

Warm and Safe Wiltshire, a free service delivered by the Centre for Sustainable Energy, is running a heating oil support scheme for eligible households.

This project is funded through the Government's Crisis and Resilience Fund, which we are managing locally.

Really pleased that our Town Council plans are moving forward and pre-application has gone into planning. We are still aiming to get these works done in first half of next year (subject to planning and loan approval).

The plan for re-vitalising the park includes a number of elements:
- replacing the play area with new exciting equipment
- replacing the mini golf with updated course
- new kiosk and seating area
- 2 padel courts

This will update and add to existing facilities of 3G pitch, tennis courts and bowls free as well as the open spaces.

These items are one project and linked to our strategy of improving the park and providing more for people to do in town.

We consulted for 2 months earlier in the year and the plans were well received.

We will be borrowing the funds to do all 4 aspects but expect the income from the padel courts to cover the loan costs ( based on advice from the LTA and the popularity of padel - although we have been conservative in our estimates of income).

We are also continuing to search for grant funding to sort out pond area and the bandstand and there are grants we can go for so this remains a focus.

We have focused our plans on providing facilities that benefit the largest number of resident for the most amount of time during the year. That means that currently we are not progressing ideas like splash pads as feel that play area (which would have similar price tag to splash pad) would provide more use for children all year round.

I have spoken to lots of people who are really excited and impatient to get the Padel courts up and running. However I know there have been some concerns raised as well - some raised by the bowls club about its location - we moved it based on this feedback so the courts will now run along next to the 3G pitch. Others about noise - we have had noise impact assessments done and checked independently and these show confidence that noise will not be a problem (or any more so than noise if tennis, football, sports already taking place in park ). There are some concerns re its appearance but it has be located so will be screened by the avenue of trees (no trees are being removed).

We are committed to improving the town and what it has to offer and moving these projects forward is a vital part of that but they are only affordable as a package - so they can be in effect self financing. Our only other way to fund this kind of amount would be to raise council tax to pay for these projects.

I hope people will continue to support this project and we can

Was great to be part of these celebrations.

On Monday, we proudly marked Ukrainian Independence Day at County Hall, Trowbridge.

We were honoured to welcome members of Wiltshire's Ukrainian community, councillors, town mayors and the wonderful SVITLO Choir for a flag-raising ceremony celebrating Ukrainian culture, identity and freedom.

Thank you to everyone across Wiltshire who has opened their homes, hearts and communities to Ukrainian families over the past few years. 💙💛
