Craig has had an amazing time walking the services support dog, Rosie. 🐾❤️

Project Manager, Bex said;

"Rosie brings Craig so much joy, especially as he used to have a dog when he was younger. Spending time with Rosie brings back many happy memories for him, and he loves engaging with her calm and gentle nature.

Craig always looks forward to seeing Rosie, and their walks together have become a really special part of his day. It’s wonderful to see the positive impact Rosie has, bringing comfort, happiness, and companionship." 😊

Michelle enjoyed a lovely day out at Stewart Park with her mam and staff members Amy and Elohor. ☀️🌳

Michelle enjoyed the walk to Stewart’s Park, spotting rabbits along the way and taking in the beautiful scenery. Once they arrived, everyone relaxed with a picnic on the grass while enjoying the warm sunshine. Michelle also treated herself to a tasty ice cream, which she thoroughly enjoyed! 🍦

During the visit, Michelle loved watching the animals and the dogs being walked around the park. She was cheerful throughout the day and really enjoyed spending time outdoors in the sunshine with everyone. 😊

Debbie, from North Tyneside, kindly organised a wonderful surprise birthday party for her dear friend Karen, who recently turned 65! 🎉🎂

Debbie baked Karen a beautiful homemade cake and all the tenants gathered together in the lounge to celebrate the special occasion. Everyone sang “Happy Birthday” to Karen, creating a warm and heart-warming atmosphere filled with smiles and happiness.

Beth, one of the tenants, said:
"The gathering was filled with joy, cheer and laughter, followed by a delightful sing-song. It was a truly lovely time for everyone involved. Well done to Debbie for organising this and for Karen’s lush surprise birthday cake!" 😊

The Teesside Bowling League congratulated Emma yesterday on winning the trophy! 🏆🎳

Emma has made so much progress since joining the group, and this is the first time she has won the trophy, a fantastic achievement that everyone was delighted to celebrate with her.

The group also welcomed Marie for the very first time. Marie's staff said:
"Marie expressed that she loved bowling! Marie doesn't usually get to go because she goes day centre, but she made friends with everyone, played really well and her mum was please she got to try something new."

It’s wonderful to see people building confidence, making friendships, and enjoying new experiences together. 😊

Andrew celebrated his birthday on Friday, and what a lovely day it was! Andrew asked if he could have a tea party and invite his family, co-tenants, and staff. 🫖🎂

Everyone came together to celebrate with him, Andrew was absolutely delighted and said, “Thanks, I’ve had a lovely day.” Such a special day filled with smiles, laughter, and great company.❤️

Karen crowning Our Lady 🌸

Karen has been part of the Catholic Fellowship all her life, and as May is the Month of Mary, this celebration holds a very special place in her heart. As a child, Karen would take part in the procession to crown Our Lady, and she had the joy of doing this once again.

Our Teesside Creative Voices Forum took a trip to Whitby for this month’s meeting!

We travelled together by bus from Middlesbrough and received a lovely welcome from our Whitby service, who hosted the meeting for us. During the session, we talked about the activities and events planned throughout the year, with everyone sharing lots of great ideas for future day trips and things to do together. 🗺️

The Teesside Creative Voices Forum gives the people we support the opportunity to have their voices heard when it comes to planning activities, events, and trips. Everything we organise is centred around the people we support, so these meetings are a great way to make sure we are creating opportunities that truly reflect what they want and enjoy. 🗣️💡

Last week a few of our services across Tyneside and Durham hosted their own events to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week. Activities included an afternoon tea and chat, wellbeing walks, and events with a range of activities focused on looking after your wellbeing.

Throughout the events, there were valuable conversations around mental health, highlighting just how important it is to talk openly and support one another. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the events so meaningful! 💚
