Well worth a watch... Ashley John-Baptiste investigates the impact the care system can have on separated siblings.

More than 12,000 children in care are not living with at least one of their siblings. If you have the space and time to offer foster care for siblings in your family then you would be making a huge, life long difference to some of the most vulnerable people in our society today.

For more information about fostering with us contact Kirsten on 079458 120 085 or message our page.

On 20th November - the South West regional team held a children's award ceremony celebrating the achievements of the children throughout the year.

There was also a long service award for foster parents where Foster Parents were given a gift, a certificate and a personalised testimony.

To top that we had a special visitor from the north pole who came to present the certificates to the children. It was a magical day and great fun was had by all......

The team in East Anglia had a fantastic day with the children and young people yesterday at the ‘Winter Wonderland’ arts and craft event. There was a range of projects to complete and an opportunity to all meet up and spend time together. They enjoyed pizza for lunch followed by a few rounds of ‘Winter Wonderland’ bingo. I am sure you will agree the arts and crafts completed on the day are amazing; below are a few photos showing some examples and the event wouldn’t be complete with out the regions purple elf making an appearance!

We went to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo ….
The team in East Anglia recently arranged a trip to Banham zoo for the foster families in the East Anglia region. We all had a lovely day; the first time in a long time that we could all meet up in person following the restrictions due to COVID-19 and it was great to see everyone.

Foster Parents enjoyed having a chance to catch up and chat with each other as well as our staff team.

We wanted to share some of the pictures of the animals taken during our day out.

Post your ideas for our next day out / Foster Family Event activity in the comments...

Running Fast For Fostering

We have 6 runners taking part in the Kings Lynn GEAR 10K on Sunday 22nd August 2021.

Our runners had a pre-run zoom catch up last week to discuss the upcoming run.

Initially the idea to run the 10k was a personal ambition of one of the team members taking part. However, never being the one to miss an opportunity to get others involved, it was suggested that if we entered as a team, we would have a chance to get fit and raise awareness of fostering.

Family is at the heart of our agency therefore our team will be made up of not only staff but also foster carers and their families!

Look out for our team ‘Running fast for Fostering’.

We are looking for foster parents in the local area.

Could you help them stay together in your foster care?

Could you foster and help the many siblings in care which are currently facing being separated. Could you help them stay together? Could you foster?

More than 12,000 children in care are not living with at least one of their siblings. To foster one child is an amazing thing to do without a doubt, and we would love to hear from you even if you would like to find out just a little more information. If you have the space and time to offer foster care for siblings in your family then you would be making a huge, life long difference to some of the most vulnerable people in our society today.

Is fostering siblings more of a challenge?
Initially, siblings often find it easier to settle into their foster parent's home because they have each other for reassurance and familiarity.
Foster parents tell us it can be easier fostering siblings as they will have someone to play with.

If you would like to discuss fostering we would love to hear from you. We will not pressure you, we are here to answer any questions you may have and talk through the options and process.

If you decide fostering could be for you, we will support you through the assessment and training and throughout your fostering career with us.

Press the 'send message' tab below to get more information or text FOSTERING to 88440. (Texts are charged at your standard network rate).

Happy Father's day!

All the children we look after are supported to maintain links with their birth families and we recognise how important these relationships are.

Here at Regional Foster families, we also recognise and celebrate the important role of “foster dads”.

If you have ever wondered how fostering impacts on foster fathers, here are some thoughts from foster parents James, Ansar, John, Leroy, Pete and Tim. (Thanks for all your comments guys).

Fostering can not only change a child’s life, but yours too… and for the better!
