Restart a Heart Day 2026 ❤️

Today, we welcomed Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust into college to deliver CPR sessions as part of their Restart a Heart Day campaign!

Students from across a range of curriculum areas took part, learning vital CPR skills and what to do in an emergency.

Knowing how to perform CPR can make a huge difference when someone’s life is at risk, so a big thank you to Yorkshire Ambulance Service for giving our students the opportunity to learn these potentially life-saving skills. 👏

⏰ Don’t miss the deadline to apply for financial support!

If your young person could be entitled to financial help with the costs of studying, make sure they get their application in by 23 October.

Our quick finance guide explains who may be eligible and what support could be available, including help with things like travel, meals and equipment.

👉 Have a chat with your young person and encourage them to check their eligibility and apply before the deadline.

And remember, students can take responsibility for their own application too - they don’t need to wait for a parent or carer to do it for them.

Archers Restaurant is officially open for this academic year! 🌽🍆🍅

Our annual Harvest Supper was first on the menu for Archers Restaurant at our Bridlington campus and what a brilliant first night it was!

Our Catering students served up an eight-course tasting menu, showcasing produce grown, preserved and harvested right here at the college garden. The evening gave our students the chance to put their skills into practice, learning about the full journey from growing and nurturing produce to harvesting, preparing, cooking and serving it.

A huge well done to all our students for a fantastic first night. The food tasted amazing and the service was consummately professional.👏

College is about more than your studies, and looking after your wellbeing matters too. If you’re struggling, worried about something or simply need someone to listen, our student support team (including Marlo, the therapy puppy) is always ready to listen.

This week, we wore yellow in support of the Hello Yellow campaign with YoungMinds.

Throughout the week, we opened up important conversations around mental health, took part in activities and welcomed YoungMinds to speak to our students about the support and services available. We also held a wellbeing session students time to focus on looking after themselves.

A big thank you to everyone who wore yellow, donated and helped raise awareness of young people’s mental health, showing young people that they are not alone. 💛

Students from our Bridlington campus, along with pupils from Bridlington School and Headlands School & Sixth Form were recently visited by David and Richard from Bridlington Primary Care Network.

They learned about the role of a physiotherapist, what to look for when assessing and diagnosing a patient, and the different treatments that may be recommended.

Students also got hands-on with a practical assessment, learning what to look for when treating a patient. They were also introduced to ultrasound equipment, discovering how it is used and what healthcare professionals look for when carrying out a scan.

A huge thank you to Bridlington Primary Care Network for giving students such a valuable insight into physiotherapy and healthcare careers. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn directly from those working in the profession! 👏

A huge thank you to wienerberger UK for their generous donation of bricks to our construction students and to Hobson & Porter for arranging and supplying them!

Their support provides our bricklaying students with access to industry-standard materials, helping them develop practical skills and gain experience using products they will encounter in the workplace.

These partnerships play an important role in ensuring our students become industry-ready, connecting classroom learning with real-world construction practices and helping to develop the skills, confidence and professionalism needed for successful careers.
