Today we attended the D Day 82 Remembrance Service at St Marys Church Portchester.

The day started with the new Portchester Volunteer Marching Band on parade, setting the scene with a rousing and stirring performance.

An annual event to honour our local war veterans,a beautiful service which was very emotional for all in attendance.

The service was followed by tea and cakes and the chance to talk to the many veterans and thier families.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning;we will remember them.

Tory and Reform Alliance Controls Hampshire

First meeting of the new Hampshire council.

Only the Liberal Democrats can stop Reform.

In many places, Conservatives are choosing to back Reform — not stand up to them.

After losing overall control at Hampshire County Council, Conservatives had a choice: work across the centre ground… or rely on Reform. They chose Reform.

Reform councillors have been handed influential roles in the new administration — with Conservative backing.

And here in Fareham, all four Conservative county councillors backed closer working with Reform.

Let’s be clear: Liberal Democrats would not do backroom deals with Reform.

Many people voted Conservative thinking they were stopping Reform. In Hampshire, the opposite is happening.

Vote Tory. Get Reform.

Only the Liberal Democrats can stop Reform.

So a simple question for local Conservatives:
Why are you helping put Reform into power?

🎓 Celebrating Skills, Success & Community in Fareham

Last week, Liberal Democrat Councillor Dave Wiltshire had the pleasure of attending the Steve Willis Training Centre’s graduation evening – a brilliant showcase of local talent and opportunity.

Cllr Dave Wiltshire said:

"It was fantastic to see so many students taking their next step into skilled careers, backed by such a supportive and dedicated team. The bond between staff and students really stood out – it’s clear just how much hard work goes into helping each person succeed.

I was also incredibly impressed by the continued support for Motiv8, with a generous £3,000 pledge. That kind of commitment to the wider community makes a real difference."

A huge congratulations to all the graduates – and a big thank you to Steve Willis and the team for everything they do to support young people and local skills here in Fareham.

🌊 Standing up for clean seas in Lee-on-the-Solent

More than 100 people gathered in the sea at Lee-on-the-Solent this weekend as part of a protest calling for action on sewage pollution and cleaner waterways.

It was great to see local Liberal Democrat councillors and campaigners supporting the event, including Cllr Alison West, Cllr Dave Wiltshire and Cllr Kirsten Wiltshire.

Residents are rightly frustrated that sewage discharges continue to affect our coastline and environment. The Solent is one of our greatest local assets — enjoyed by swimmers, families, sailors and wildlife alike — and people expect better.

🗣️ Cllr Alison West said:
“Our coastline is something we should be proud of, not worried about. Residents are fed up with pollution incidents and want to see proper investment in infrastructure and tougher action to protect our seas.”

The Liberal Democrats will continue pushing for cleaner waterways, stronger environmental protections and proper accountability from water companies.

“It’s really offputting, the more you think about it.”
