Over the next week, we’ll be speaking to volunteers from across the force about the vital work they do, the contributions they make, and the reasons they choose to give up their time to make a difference.

We begin by speaking to Community Policing Volunteer (CPV) Tina and her therapy dog, Alfie. Hear about their vital role in attending courts to comfort vulnerable victims, and how Tina and Alfie make a huge difference in the local community at events, schools, hospices and police stations.
CPVs support policing needs in the community, working directly with specialist teams, such as neighbourhood, canine, equine, and security. These volunteers improve community support and help increase police presence throughout Kent.

A closure order has been obtained for a property in which was at the centre of antisocial behaviour and drug dealing.

Officers have been repeatedly called to the property in Keary Road in recent months, following reports of violence, drug dealing and anti-social behaviour.

In response, officers went to Maidstone Magistrates' Court on Wednesday 27 May 2026 and applied for a closure order to prevent anyone entering the property.

A 3 month order was granted, meaning anyone found going in and out of the property could be arrested and face further action.

Officers visited the house the next day and it was boarded and locked up to prevent anyone breaching the court order.

Police Sergeant Rob Wilkinson said: 'We are committed to doing everything we can to tackle antisocial behaviour and will not hesitate to act when needed.

‘Kent Police will continue to tackle antisocial behaviour, especially when the persistent crime from one household effects the whole community.'
