Around the clock more than 4,000 police officers and police staff work hard to provide a policing service to the public of Hertfordshire supported by Spec

ial Constables. Together we look at where we can make the most difference to improving the quality of everyone’s lives and creating a safer Hertfordshire. In our work, we put our communities first; we want to be there when victims need us the most and when criminals don’t. Most importantly, we want people to be safe and feel safe whether they are in their homes, on the streets, at work in our county or using social media. The aim of our social media channels is to create an environment where our communities can engage safely in debate and are free to make comments, questions and suggestions. However, we will not tolerate offensive posts, which include but are not limited to, homophobic, racist or s*xist comments and they will be removed immediately. We ask that anyone engaging with our social media channels shows courtesy, kindness and respect for all other members of our social media communities. Please remember that children are also able to access our social media accounts, so we ask anyone using our accounts to please not use profanities when posting comments and remember that it is the kind and friendly nature of our communities that makes Hertfordshire such a wonderful county, so let's retain that ethos when using social media. In order to help create this safe environment, we have set out some guidelines which apply to any engagement with us or other members of the community on any of our social media channels. By engaging with our social media channels you agree to follow these guidelines. Comments must not:

* Contain spam, be defamatory of any person, deceive others, be obscene, offensive, threatening, abusive, hateful, inflammatory or promote s*xually explicit material or violence.
* Promote discrimination based on race, s*x, religion, nationality, disability, s*xual orientation or age.
* Breach any of the terms of any of the social media platforms themselves.
* Be off topic, irrelevant or unintelligible.
* Contain any advertising or promote any services.

Are you sure there's nothing in the vehicle?

Acting on intelligence, officers were alerted to a suspicious car in the area. Despite initial searches being unsuccessful, persistence paid off.

PC Jack Laycock located the vehicle in Bar and stopped the driver. A search of the vehicle uncovered:

- £280 in cash
- Three wraps of suspected co***ne
- A large bag of suspected uncut co***ne

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and has been released on bail while our enquiries continue.

A great example of persistence and proactive policing making our communities safer and taking suspected drugs off of the streets.

If you have concerns about drugs in your area, please don’t hesitate to report it. The more information we receive, the better our intelligence picture is which in turn leads to arrests.

We're at the The Snow Centre in today for a training exercise to test our response to a major incident scenario.

Our response officers can often be first on the scene at major incidents, so regular training ensures they feel best equipped to assess initial and emerging risk, share information efficiently and understand what our partner agencies need at the same time, all while protecting the public.

We follow a national framework for interoperability, which is all about making sure emergency services work together to save lives and reduce harm. These exercises help us test our approach against that framework, as well as build strong professional relationships, and make sure our plans are effective at every stage—from the initial response right through to recovery.

We recently carried out a road safety operation in where we stopped moped and delivery drivers to check they were on the road legally.

During the day we seized a number of bikes being ridden by individuals who did not have driving licences and/or insurance.

🚫 Driving illegally isn’t worth it — it’s only a matter of time before you’re caught.

Ask yourself: is it worth the risk?
