🌟 Celebrating Volunteers’ Week 2026! 🌟

This year, we’re shining a very special spotlight on two incredible people: Mike and Jenny Evans, who have been volunteering at our Deerhurst Care Home for an astonishing 25 years.

At 82 and 84, Jenny and Mike have given more than 2,600 days of their time, supporting activities, mealtimes, entertainment and, most importantly, building friendships that have brightened the lives of thousands of residents. They are also older than 30% of the residents at Deerhurst Care Home.

We’re delighted to share that both Colliers Gardens, one of our Extra Care Housing sites, and Woodland Court, our Retirement Village, have once again maintained their ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Food Hygiene Ratings following recent inspections from Environmental Health!

This achievement is a reflection of the hard work, dedication and high standards consistently shown by our catering and hospitality teams, who work every day to provide safe, high-quality meals and dining experiences for residents.

A huge congratulations and thank you to everyone involved — a fantastic result to celebrate! 👏

We've seen some insightful, engaging and fun events take place across our sites this week as part of Dementia Action Week.

Our care homes and reablement centre have gone above and beyond to host a calendar of activities that have not only increased awareness and understanding of living with dementia, but also improved quality of life for our residents.

Day 6 of Dementia Action Week 💙

Residents at Little Heath Care had a wonderful day of dancing and singing to their favourite songs in the morning, followed by their very own mocktail making class where they created a new signature drink 'Devilish Delight' - now on the menu at the Little Heath Arms pub!

Listen to Homemaker Amy and residents Alison & Pearl talk about the fun they've had as part of Dementia Action Week:

Day 3 of Dementia Action Week at Brunelcare💙

On day 3, Saffron Gardens Care Home held a training session titled Understanding Learning Difficulties, Autism & Dementia Care. The session opened up discussions around the link between learning difficulties and dementia, the importance of equity in care and how staff at Saffron Gardens use the knowledge gained in their training to deliver person-centred care tailored to the individual needs of each resident.

Day 2 of Dementia Action Week at Brunelcare💙

Our Glastonbury Care Home welcomed a local school, where children and residents enjoyed playing games and singing together, creating wonderful intergenerational moments full of smiles and laughter. Robinson House Care Home was treated to a fantastic performance from a talented singer, Joe Lloyd, while Little Heath Care & Support got everyone moving with a fun game of balloon tennis 🎈

It’s been a fabulous day enjoyed by everyone, filled with connection, joy and meaningful activities that bring people together. Thank you to everyone who helped make today so special!

💙 Dementia Action Week is here! 💙

This week, Brunelcare is proud to be taking part in Dementia Action Week with a range of activities, talks and community events across our sites to help raise awareness, understanding and support for people living with dementia.

From dementia walks, Namaste sessions and singalongs, to gardening, pebble painting, colouring sessions and informative talks, we have a fantastic week planned for residents, families, colleagues and local communities. 🌼🎨🚶‍♀️🎶

We’re especially looking forward to welcoming people into our spaces, sharing conversations around dementia care, and highlighting the importance of creating compassionate and inclusive communities for everyone affected by dementia.

Stay tuned throughout the week as we share updates and photos from across our homes! 💙

🚨 We’re Growing Our South Gloucestershire Reablement Team.

Thanks to our new contract we have lots of amazing roles to fill! 🚨

We’re excited to announce a major expansion of our Community Reablement service in South Gloucestershire after securing a new five-year contract! 🎉

This means we’ll be increasing our care provision from 525 hours per week to an anticipated 1,200 hours per week — and we’re now recruiting 12 new Community Reablement Workers to join our supportive team and help make a real difference in people’s lives.

⭐No prior care experience is needed and full, continuous training will be provided.

💙 About the role
As a Community Reablement Worker, you’ll provide short-term, high-quality care and support to people returning home from hospital, helping them regain confidence and independence in their own homes.

Your role will include:
✔️ Assessing clients’ needs to support independent living
✔️ Encouraging and motivating individuals to achieve their reablement goals
✔️ Supporting with personal care, including washing, dressing, and meal preparation where needed

This is a rewarding opportunity to build meaningful relationships, support recovery, and positively impact your local community.
