Take a step back in time and stay in our beautiful cabins, just a stones throw from Usk Castle ruins. Usk Castle has been in the Humphreys family for over 100 years and is a enchanting and unique place. Usk itself is a lovely town to visit, and has a great local community with lots of small businesses. Tom decided to set up Castle Knights in 2012, to share a corner of his family home with families, couples and anyone with an appreciation for history and a love of the outdoors. The site has a cosy woodland atmosphere and is well equipped with a purpose built toilet block and extensive kitchen facilities. In recent years he has discovered Bob the Yurt who lovingly crafted some of our first cabins on site- the beautiful Shepherds Cabin, Yurt and Dragonette which are truly unique and thoroughly Welsh! Latest additions include the Nook and the Lodge in 2021. The site has hosted several family parties and group events- the best bit is seeing people enjoy the place we love. With the pack down in full swing and the October sun hitting the campsite just right. We couldn't help but share the beautiful surroundings of Glyndwr Fort and the autumn leaves!

As we start preparing the site for the winter closure, we can't help but stop and admire the beauty here today.

It feels like it's been an absolute whirlwind!

Whether you loved meeting new friends or hired the campsite exclusively with your family and loved ones. We've enjoyed hosting you all!

We hope next year brings familiar faces and returning guests, so we can do it all again.

With the final camping and glamping weekend approaching, we made the most of the dry weather and took down our yurt!

It's had a very busy season, with lots of families and guests making the most of its space and warmth!

With bookings for next year, already in the diary!

This 'Meet the Team Monday' post is centred around the most lovable team member, Gethin!

If you've stayed with us before, you've most likely met this cheeky chap!

Gethin is the castle dog and can be found roaming the campsite, usually with a stick, fir cone or ball in tow! Ready to drop at your feet whilst giving you those big puppy dog eyes! He'll have you playing fetch for hours!

Just you wait and see who tires first...

The castle and campsite is Gethin's home, he's a very friendly pooch and much loved by all that meet him! He's great with other dogs and people of all shapes and sizes!

Gethin will have you playing fetch in no time but we do understand that fetch is not everyone's cup of tea! So if you'd like a little break from this handsome boy, don't hesitate to drop us a call and we'll come and get him.

Although just look at his little face and waggy tail! Those big brown eyes will have even the staunchest dog-skeptic laughing, bending down and picking up that ball.

Gethins charm is simply too powerful to resist!

So please feel free up give this handsome boy some love if you see him around the campsite!

Remember if he gets too much, just drop us a call we are not far away!

Now the weather has cooled down and there's a dry weekend in sight! We thought we'd share some of our favourite hikes in the area.. The Abergavenny Three Peaks!

All of these amazing hikes are just 30 minutes away or less from the Campsite.

We even have you covered for some food and drink recommendations close by to each peak!

These are great for an afternoon away from the campsite, exploring the local mountains and fueling the hikes with some well planned pitstops!

We're not ready to say goodbye to summer yet!

As the summer fades, what better way to recharge before winter, than catching the final weeks of warm sunshine at the campsite!?

Weather's looking good for the upcoming weekend, some sunshine poking through the clouds and it seems to be dry in Usk Saturday and Sunday!

This weeks 'Meet the Team Monday' Post focuses on a vital part of our team, who we've been lucky to share the last 5 years with.

A legendary local, giving you the best advice on where to find the perfect Carling in Usk.

Our campsite champion, whose handiwork you've definitely noticed, if you've been lucky to stay with us.

Whether it's those legendary, crisp, crease-free beds that look almost too perfect to sleep in or our squeaky clean toilets and showers.

Here's the face you'll most likely recognise around the site, our smiley and ever so friendly... Rach!

Rach is a true local expert and a lady we are very lucky to have!

She's at the campsite every day with a smile on her face and a great can-do attitude, no matter what the weather! Which can be particularly tricky when you work on a campsite in Wales!

So give her a big smile and a wave if you see her around and feel free to ask any questions you might have on the local area! She's a born-and-bred local and your go-to guide for what to do in Usk!

When she isn't making our campsite shine, she's busy achieving some seriously cool milestones, like earning her Masters degree in Marine Biology. Exploring the great blue sea and most likely spotted in her favourite watering hole, The Kings!

She's one smart cookie and just like the rest of the team has a true love for animals and nature! She'll 100% abandon her duties to pet your dog or help jump start the odd campervan or two!
