MAKING A BIG NOISE FOR PLAYDAY!

Today, across the UK thousands of children and young people, their families, and their communities, are Making a Big Noise for Playday, the national day for play.

Recognising the importance of children’s play and supporting children to play in carefree ways, on Playday and every day, is more important than ever.

This year’s Playday theme, Everyday Freedoms Everyday Adventures, highlights the importance of giving children and teenagers the freedom to play and have everyday adventures.

Given the challenges faced by children this year due to government restrictions, the campaign focuses on the unique characteristics of play that help children make sense of the world around them and can alleviate their stress and anxiety, particularly during uncertain times.

• Playing is fun and is central to children’s happiness
• Playing helps children’s physical, mental and emotional health and well-being
• Playing boosts children’s resilience, enabling them to cope with stress, anxiety and challenges
• Playing supports children to develop confidence, creativity and problem-solving skills
• Playing contributes to children’s learning and development.

We are calling on families, carers, and communities across the UK to join the celebration of play from their doorsteps and clap, cheer, bang pots and pans, and generally Make a Big Noise for Playday at 2:00pm.

Is there a way for local residents to get warned of upcoming works? Roadworks are obviously very important, but with so many people working from home it's more important than ever that people are kept up to date. There are very loud roadworks on our street today, with no indication of how long it's going to take.
Hi there. A chair has been dumped on Marshall Drive in Hayes. Please could you send someone to clear. Thanks.
Will you be heading there this weekend?
Hello. A bed frame and drawers have been dumped down Marshall drive, Hayes. Could you send someone to clean it away please? Thanks.
Hi, wondering if you can help me with some recyclable questions please: 1. Can LED lightbulbs be recycled using the recycling bags collected from kerb side? Or only at Harefield? If not kerbside, are there any other locations which recycle LED lightbulbs (checked online and says LED can be recycled) as traffic to Harefield is apparently crazy and don't want to make it worse just for some lightbulbs if there's alternatives. 2. Can blister packs from medicine be recycled? People I know in other councils have been advised they can recycle these through kerbside recycling, so wanted to check if available here 3. Is there anywhere near by for rubber recycling? E.g. broken elastic bands and inch circles of thick rubber? Thanks for any help. Tried looking online but couldn't find these answer out!
Hi Hillingdon council, sadly some neighbours dropped their rubbish (toilet) in front of my house during refurbishment. There was no space in our builder' skip so it's left behind, now in front of my house. How can I get rid of it? I am certainly not going to pay £25 to get rid of my neighbours' rubbish. Thanks
Hello. There’s quite a bit of rubbish dumped down the off-road pathway to the flats beyond number 59 on Marshall Drive. It’s at the end of the pathway and not on the road so not obvious to the street cleaning team but it has built up. Please could you send someone? Thank you.
