Izzy has lived in Goonhavern for 5 years and plays an active role in the community, initially being part of the local scouts group and for the past 3 years being a key part of the committee for Goonhavern village hall.

💡 Street Lighting Consultation – Have Your Say

Perranzabuloe Parish Council is seeking residents' views on street lighting across the parish.

It recognises that street lighting is an issue on which people hold a wide range of views.

This consultation is an opportunity for everyone to share their experiences and opinions, helping the Parish Council better understand local needs and priorities before considering future approaches to parish street lighting.

Paper copies will be available from Wednesday 24 June at the Library and the Parish Offices.

The Parish Council encourage all residents to take part in the consultation and share their views through the survey, as this is the most effective way to ensure feedback is recorded and considered.

Please note that the Parish Council will not be responding to comments about the consultation on social media. Comments on this post have been disabled to encourage residents to use the consultation itself, where all viewpoints can be submitted and taken into account as part of the review process.

Applicants are reminded that they have undertaken to notify all interested parties known to be directly affected by the closure including, if appropriate, bus companies and all frontagers on the length of the road such as local residents and businesses as well as other traders who may have to make deliveries and/or collections in the area.

The event organiser will display notices at each road / street to be closed at least fourteen days before the closure.

Applicants are reminded that they are responsible for the provision, er****on, maintenance and removal of all necessary signing and site notices.

GOONHAVERN PARK PLAY AREA will be closed on Tuesday 9 June due to installation of new surfacing under some of the play equipment. It is estimated that works will take up to 2 days depending on weather conditions.

Perranzabuloe Parish Council (PPC) is aware of concerns raised by members of the public regarding the trench that was created on Perranporth Beach for the Tunes in the Dunes event.

PPC takes these concerns seriously. Officers and elected Members are currently working with the Property Manager, Tunes in the Dunes organisers, and other relevant parties.

It is understood that the trench was created as a short-term measure in connection with the safety and protection of festival attendees, members of the public, staff, contractors, festival infrastructure and equipment. However, PPC is seeking further information regarding the decision-making process, risk assessments and operational arrangements that informed this action.

At this stage, PPC is gathering information from all parties involved and reviewing the relevant permissions, operational procedures and management arrangements associated with the event. It would therefore be inappropriate to reach conclusions before this process has been completed.

PPC remains committed to ensuring that public safety, environmental considerations and the responsible management of Perranporth Beach are given appropriate consideration in all activities taking place on the beach. Any lessons identified through this review process will be considered with the relevant stakeholders.

PPC thanks residents for bringing their concerns to our attention and for their patience while enquiries are ongoing.
