Please see advice from Cornwall Council ahead of Storm Austin

With Storm Austen nearly here, the Met Office has issued an amber wind warning for Cornwall from 1am to 10am tomorrow (Friday) when gusts of more than 70mph are expected.

Storm Austen is on the way, with an amber weather warning in place across Cornwall on Friday due to dangerous winds.
Significant disruption is likely. Debris could affect roads, and power cuts are possible. If you need to travel, take extra care and consider whether your journey is necessary. Please avoid Bolenna and Goonhavern Park for risk of falling trees and branches.

It’s worth preparing now in case of power cuts. Make sure you have torches, spare batteries, a charged mobile phone power bank and other essentials to hand. A wind up radio will enable you to keep up to date with any news.

Stay away from exposed coastal areas overnight and on Friday. Strong winds and large waves could make conditions extremely dangerous. Do not take risks, but if you see someone in trouble along the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.

Stay safe and look out for one another. If you have an alternative fuel source such as a wood burner and can offer heat and food to someone without power, please do!

Droskyn Field – Grass Cutting Notice

Please be advised that the remaining grass at Droskyn Field will be cut tomorrow afternoon, with the grass cuttings then baled and removed over the weekend.

During this work, footpaths around the field will be temporarily closed using barriers and signage. For your safety, please avoid the area while the cutting is taking place.

The Parish Council would like to extend its sincere thanks to Bob Trevail for kindly carrying out this work free of charge.
