The South African (Boer) War Memorial in Central Park, Liscard, is a Grade II listed monument, erected in 1902–03 to honour local men who served in the conflict, including those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

As an important part of Wirral’s heritage, the memorial has been restored and will be regularly inspected, maintained and conserved by Wirral Council to ensure it is treated with the dignity and respect it deserves, preserving it for future generations while helping to prevent the need for more extensive restoration in the future.

Weeds go from bad to worse, one of the services we all pay for and should get better than this. They'll be cutting the bin service next!

Due to a fire at Bidston recycling centre overnight, bin collections are having to be diverted to Liverpool for disposal. There will be inevitable delays that could impact collections for the remainder of the week. Please put your bins out as normal and leave until collected.

You can be assured that we are the only party who are genuine in our objections to the carbon pipeline

Last night in the House of Commons, Aphra Brandreth MP secured an adjournment debate at the end of business on the Peak Cluster project. Her contribution was measured, sensible and clear - she is opposed to this project which is not right for Cheshire. I would encourage everyone who is interested in this subject to read her speech which is available via the link below. Local Conservatives are clear on this - we've led the 'political party' action against this project, whilst also recognising the incredible energy and effort of the campaigners who are part of Action Against CCS who are literally working on this every single day across a vast area. It isn't a foregone conclusion that this project will happen. Thanks, Aphra, for a robust and important contribution to this debate.
