The Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Community Safety Public Meeting will be held on Thursday 10th September 2026 from 7.00pm to 8.00pm, at Thornwood Common Community Centre, Weald Hall Lane, Thornwood, Epping, Essex, CM16 6NB. PFCC Roger Hirst will be joined on a panel by Essex Police, Essex Fire and Rescue Service and Epping Forest CSP.

The meeting is an opportunity for local residents, community representatives and partners to come together to discuss community safety issues, share concerns and hear updates on local priorities.

The fly tip of builders rubble has gone from Galley Hill Rd, thanks to TVS and EFDC for clearing this unsightly mess.

The fly-tip at the bottom of Galley Hill Road is now being investigated, and I hope will be cleared soon. Its a rather unsightly pile of builders rubble at the moment.

The Men's Shed is up and running again after the summer break. The team started work on an outdoor display for Remembrance Day on Sunday 8th November. We have plenty of time to finish the project! Next meeting will be Monday 7th Sept 1-3pm at the Library.

I went to the free tennis session at Larsens Recreation Ground on Saturday. The session was really well attended, the courts are in great condition and you can book them easily or even become a member. Its great to see the EFDC website highlighting the fantastic renovation of the King Harold memorial. The work was led by the Waltham Abbey Town Partnership with money from the UK shared prosperity fund. It's well worth a trip to see the new memorial.

The historic King Harold Memorial and pathway in the grounds of Waltham Abbey Church have been restored thanks to local partnership funding.
