We are seeking an experienced and ambitious leader to join our Children & Families leadership team as Head of Service – Families First (Quality & Performance).

This is a key strategic role within Warwickshire County Council, responsible for driving forward our Families First approach, strengthening quality assurance, and ensuring strong performance across Children’s Services. The postholder will play a central role in delivering continued system-wide improvement, working closely with partners across the safeguarding system.

We are currently recruiting for a Ceremony Usher for our Warwick and Stratford-upon- Avon ceremony room.

We conduct around 2,500 ceremonies each year throughout Warwickshire in 90 venues approved by Warwickshire County Council.

The Role

The Ceremony Usher will provide a warm and professional meet and greet service for wedding and civil partnership couples and their guests. Successful applicants will be on a zero-hour contract, to work as and when required. The position is required to cover weekday, weekend, and public holidays. The greatest demand is during the summer months, however, we are looking for someone with availability to cover ceremonies throughout the year.

Key Requirements

-To be successful in this role, you will need experience of working with the public in a customer service environment, with a commitment to delivering a first-class service.
-You will need excellent communication skills, with the ability to relate to people in a tactful, understanding, and diplomatic manner
-You will need to work effectively as part of a team, including flexibility to work at short notice.
-You will be required to wear staff uniform.
-You will need to be able to move, lift and carry (chairs) as required (suitable training will be given) and be willing to undertake any relevant training.
