Had your bins missed? The council is to suspend recycling collections for a week to catch up on general waste. Not ideal by any means but the only practical solution to the problem. I have asked the question what penalties does the contract face for failing to provide the service they are contracted to do so. You can report missed bin collections on the following link via the online form or the contact number. https://www.havant.gov.uk/contact-us

We’ve had to suspend recycling for one week from Monday 8 June, in the south of the Borough. This is to allow our waste collections to catch up. We’re sorry for the inconvenience.

If you live in the Bedhampton, Brockhampton, Broadmarsh, Denvilles, Emsworth, Havant, Hayling Island, Langstone, Leigh Park, West Leigh, Warren Park, and Warblington areas, your next recycling collection will take place week commencing Monday 22 June, on your normal scheduled collection day.

Please can you:
• Squash, flatten, and condense recyclable materials within your bins where possible
• Present any additional recyclable side waste in either a cardboard box or a clear sack on your next scheduled collection day from week commencing 22 June

With 2 pubs a day closing across the country, we continue to lose what is for some communities the heart and soul that brings us together. This week is National Pub Day. If you can, please show your support for our pubs by popping for a drink and food this Saturday. And please remember to support your local pub when thinking of a place to meet. If we do not use this places, we will lose them.

Following tonight’s meeting of the Reform UK Councillor Group on Havant Borough Council, we are pleased to confirm that Councillor Sharon Collings has been elected to continue as Group Leader.

Councillor Gwen Robinson has been appointed Deputy Leader, and Councillor Sarah Milne (Hiding) will move forward as Group Secretary.

As the largest group on Havant Borough Council, we are committed to working as a united, cohesive team focused on delivering for residents across the borough. Unlike others, we do not need to rely on backroom deals or the support of other parties to get our message across.

We will stand on our own record, our own ideas, and our own mandate from the public — and we are not afraid to put that record before residents.

Our focus now is simple: strong local representation, holding the council to account, challenging complacency, and delivering the change residents voted for.

United, focused, and ready to get to work.

For those in our community need a bit of a helping hand in gaining experience in the work place, these are brilliant opportunities for that. With so many employers looking for experience over qualification in a increasingly competitive jobs market, these supported SEND internships offer that opportunity. Click below for more information.

Hampshire County Council is highlighting supported internships as a practical way to help young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) move from education into paid employment – with the right support in place
