Oh, What a Night! Thank you, thank you, thank you.

AND WHAT A NIGHT IT WAS.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the fun-filled night on Saturday 22 August to hear from the world-renowned Fencebay Band. Thank you to the Band. As usual they thrilled everyone with their repertoire. Thanks everyone for joining in the fun. And thank you to Fencebay for allowing us to use the barn as a venue. A huge thanks to our volunteers and supporters who made it all happen.

Thanks also to our sponsors including Climie the Butchers in West Kilbride for supplying the burgers. They were superbly cooked by Nicki (see pic) who was ably assisted by Rudi.

Thank you to those who sponsored our raffle prizes with incredibly generous gifts including gift vouchers for:

Of course, this was a fund-raising event for our charity, Friends of Portencross Castle. From the sale of tickets, the raffle, donations and burgers we raised some £2,000.

Raffle: Music in the Barn Night

Another great raffle will be held for our Fence Bay Band night on Saturday 22 August from 7.30pm – 11.00pm.

Our generous local businesses and friends have contributed enormously to our fund-raising Raffle Prizes including gifts of burgers, a voucher for flowers and one for an MOT, and various gifts including a bottle of excellent malt whisky. A huge thanks to all who have contributed. A fuller list and thanks will appear in our report of Saturday’s music and dance night.

Tickets are available at the Castle during opening hours (11.00am – 4.00pm) and will be on sale on the night.

MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR TICKETS.

Our World Famous Music Barn Night: 22 August

Join us for a fun-filled night on Saturday 22 August from 7.30pm – 11.00pm. Listen to the World Famous Fencebay Band who will thrill you with their repertoire. All in aid of raising funds for Portencross Castle. Bring your own bottle, nibbles and glasses. Burgers will be on sale on the night. Venue is the Barn at Fencefoot Farm, Fairlie. Raffle will be drawn in the night.

Tickets are £15 and are available from Portencross Castle – open from 11.00am – 4.00pm daily. Also from the Fencebay Farm Shop.

POSSIBLE MINOR DISRUPTION AT PORTENCROSS

Portencross Castle will remain open during the period of works being carried out by Scottish Power Energy Networks this week beginning 10th August. You can still drive down Portencross Road, with traffic management in place. Our usual steward and volunteer guides will be there to help you enjoy your visit.

The SPEN work on two transformers on Portencross Road will not affect access to the Car Park nor to the Castle. Please follow the instructions of the men who are doing the traffic control. Please be patient if you have to wait for a period as the works have to be carried out in a safe manner for all concerned.

You may have to use just the one entry point down at the Car Park and there may be a bit of traffic management in place.

TEMPORARY DISRUPTION AT PORTENCROSS

Portencross Castle will remain open during the period of works being carried out by Scottish Power Energy Networks this week beginning 10th August. You can still drive down Portencross Road, with traffic management in place. Our usual steward and volunteer guides will be there to help you enjoy your visit.

The SPEN work on two transformers on Portencross Road will not affect access to the Car Park nor to the Castle. There will be some disruption up until lunchtime today, 10th August, at Ardneil Farm entrance. Please follow the instructions of the men who are doing the traffic control at all times. Please be patient if you have to wait for a period as the works have to be carried out in a safe manner for all concerned.

You may have to use just the one entry point down at the Car Park and there may be a bit of traffic management in place.

DISRUPTION TO CASTLE OPENING TIMES
The Castle IS open today, Wednesday 5th August, with our usual steward and volunteer guides to help give you a great experience.

Works being carried out by Scottish Power Energy Networks in weeks beginning 3rd August and 10th August will not affect access to the Car Park nor to the Castle. You may have to use just the one entry point to the Car Park for entry and exit. Keep checking our website, page and/or our Calendar for updates in the days ahead.
