A sight you'll never see in Weymouth again.

Signs telling you not to park too near to the railway tracks.

It may be hard to believe, but trains once ran along some of Weymouth's streets.

Real trains, not the land train. Trains that run on tracks.

Some were steam trains.

They used to run from Weymouth station to the quayside near the Pavilion Theatre.

The last one ran, we think, in 1999. By then it was a rare event and something of a spectacle.

The rails stayed long after the trains stopped. But they've gone now. So too, we're guessing, is this sign.

A sight you'll never see again in Weymouth?

The Red Arrows, performing as part of Weymouth Carnival.

For years, mid-August was carnival time in Weymouth. Crowds crammed the beach and the Esplanade. Locals spent weeks designing and building extravagant floats and displays.

It's part of history now. Probably.

What's on your 'must do' list for Weymouth this week?

We just hosted visitors - here's what they wanted to do (and we did):

- Eat fish and chips by the harbour (thank you Bennett's Fish and Chips)
- Visit Nothe Fort (kids loved the dressing up)
- Enjoy the rides at Alexandra Gardens
- Take the rowing boat ferry across the harbour
- Putting at Greenhill Gardens Weymouth - FOGG
- Walk barefoot along the beach

They'll be back next year and want new experiences for their list.

A sight you'll never see in Weymouth again.

Condor Ferries terminal, for ships sailing to the Channel Islands.

The last ferry docked in March 2015. This was despite Weymouth rebuilding the berth, because it was beginning to collapse.

Gold medal winner for Large Visitor Attraction of the Year at the most recent Dorset Tourism Awards.

It's also an amazing viewpoint over Weymouth.

The Nothe Fort is a must-see attraction in the town.

It's also run by the town, through Weymouth Civic Society.

Well worth a visit.
