RESURFACING OF WHICKHAM FRONT STREET

Commencing on Monday 7th September and carrying on over 5 nights (weather permitting), Front Street will be being resurfaced. The stretch concerned is approximately from St Mary’s Green to Church Green.

Road closures will be in place from 630pm to 600am. Diversions will be in force from:

* Rectory Lane junction eastwards along Front Street
* From The Square, westwards along Front Street
* Rectory Lane/Whaggs Lane southwards

They say politics is a rough game … and so it is! However, I draw the line at this type of behaviour which is commonplace among local Labour supporters. The fact is that my wife died under the most tragic circumstances. I have never been to Oxford or run a business there either. This post in particular is very distressing for my son. This person continues to post this kind of thing and worse. But that’s Labour trolls for you! If they can’t find anything to attack you for, they simply make it up ! Vile people 😡

Today an important committee on Care Health and Wellbeing took place at the civic centre. We were shocked to see how little attention one Labour councillor was paying to proceedings. There must have been something really fascinating on her phone. To be fair to her though, several other Labour councillors were also filming our councillors and surfing! Had this been one of the Reform councillors, there would have already been complaints lodged by Labour! Hypocrisy!

Mark Ferguson MP has written to the leader of the council requesting that work on the demolition of the Fly Over is delayed to accommodate the NUFC/Gateshead FC football match on 25th. Specifically he requests that the work to the Park Lane roundabout is delayed.

Mr Ferguson is well aware that the work on the fly over is time critical. More importantly he’s aware that there must be assessments and plans put in place for such a suggestion to be enacted. This request therefore comes far too late to enact. It is therefore somewhat pointless and playing politics.
