We are delighted with the new signs that have been installed yesterday at the entrance to the playing fields (on Billinge Road - opposite Smock Lane). Tom Nugent actually was junior football in this area and will be long-remembered. Without him, many children would have missed the opportunity to play locally - we feel this is such a fitting tribute to him.

🌳 Garswood Community Playground – Maintenance Update 🛝

I’m pleased to let local residents know that the children’s playground in front of Garswood Community Centre has now been thoroughly pressure washed. This includes both the play equipment and the rubber safety matting.

This work has been carried out in preparation for St Helens Council to repaint the playground equipment, helping to keep the area looking fresh, safe and welcoming for our children.

I’m also aware of some ongoing issues with the joints between sections of the rubber matting. I’m currently liaising with the Council regarding these issues, with the aim of getting them rectified.

All of this forms part of our ongoing playground maintenance and community litter pick this Saturday, 5th September, from 9am until 12 noon. 🧤🧹

If you’re available and able to lend a hand, your help would be very much appreciated. If you can, please bring a pair of gloves — we’ll provide everything else.

It’s great to see our community coming together to improve and look after our local facilities. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has already offered their support, and we hope to see plenty of you on Saturday!
