Dorset Police are warning residents about suspected doorstep traders reported in our area.

On 18/08/2026, Dorset Police received reports of potential doorstep traders knocking on doors in the area of Corfe Mullen, offering roofing work. This resulted in several roof tiles being taken after the victim refused work.

There are several ways people can be tricked by door-to-door fraud. It’s important to know that if this has happened to you, it’s not your fault and that there’s support for you.

Our Grounds Team have been busy giving some of our Town Council benches a makeover.

They've been sanded, filled and re-stained, and we're really pleased with how they've turned out. Another job ticked off and another few benches looking good for residents to enjoy! 🌳

💧 Temporary hosepipe ban coming into effect. Wessex Water has announced that, from 00:01 on Tuesday 18 August, a temporary hosepipe ban will come into effect for all of its water supply customers.

The decision has been made due to the ongoing extreme drought and will help protect water supplies and reduce pressure on the network.

Wessex Water says this is the first time in 50 years that it has asked customers not to use hosepipes for non-essential activities such as watering gardens, washing vehicles and cleaning patios.

Please help conserve water while the ban is in place. 💧🌿
