Our friends at Calibre Audio are running an exciting competition celebrating the power of reading and storytelling!

If you enjoy books, audiobooks, writing or creativity, this could be a fantastic opportunity to get involved and share your voice.

Calibre Audio provides audiobooks and reading support for people who find it difficult to read print, helping make reading accessible to everyone.

🎉 WhizzFizz Art Competition Winners on Display! 🎉

A huge congratulations to all of our WhizzFizz Art Competition winners and runners-up across the 6 and Under, 7 - 11 and 12 - 15 age categories.

The standard was incredibly high this year, with so many imaginative, colourful and creative entries that choosing the winners was no easy task!

While we're celebrating our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each age group, we'd also like to say a massive well done to everyone who entered. Your creativity, talent and enthusiasm made this year's competition truly special.

You can now see the winning artwork on display at:

Aylesbury Library – 7 September to 12 September
High Wycombe Library – 14 September to 19 September

We’re excited to be going all in for the with the The Reading Agency’s Summer Reading Challenge 2026! Children can still sign up for Read to the Beat! at their local library or online and enjoy fantastic books, activities, and rewards throughout the holidays. It’s easy to get involved:

- Head down to your local library and sign up with your child’s library card.

- Pick up your starter pack complete with a sticker booklet and Storytime magazine and set your reading goal.

- Start reading! 6 books or more - if you love it, read it.

Once your child reads 6 or more books, the Summer Reading Challenge is complete. But why stop there? After picking up their Completers certificate and medal, you can keep the fun going this summer and Read to the Beat!

Have you written and self-published a book? Ready to share your story with new readers?

Buckinghamshire Libraries is inviting local writers to take part in our Self-Published Authors Showcase at Buckingham Library on Saturday 10 October 2026 from 10:30am.

Applications close on 29 August 2026, so don't miss this opportunity to put your work in front of new audiences and be part of a special celebration of local writing.

As a participating author, you'll have the opportunity to:

- Showcase and sell your books

- Meet and engage with readers

- Network with fellow local writers

- Share your publishing journey and inspire others

- Celebrate local stories and creative talent
