This June, we begin with Young Refugee Fostering Awareness Week, leading up to World Refugee Day on 20 June.

Across the world, millions of people have been forced to flee their homes in search of safety — including children who arrive in the UK alone, without parents or family.
Many have experienced loss, uncertainty, and long, dangerous journeys — but they also bring resilience, courage and hope for a better future.
This week, we’re raising awareness of their experiences, challenging common myths, and highlighting the life-changing role foster carers play in helping young people feel safe, supported and able to rebuild their lives.

💛 Because every young person deserves not just safety — but somewhere to belong.

Fostering doesn’t come with a checklist about your relationship status.

Single men foster successfully — offering stability, guidance, and a strong, supportive home environment.
If you have the time, space, and commitment, you can make a difference.

As Volunteers’ Week comes to an end, we want to say one more heartfelt thank you to all our volunteers.

To our Independent Visitors — your commitment, consistency and care help create a sense of stability and belonging for children and young people in care.
What you do might feel simple — a regular meet‑up, a shared activity, a listening ear — but the impact is anything but.

💛 You help build confidence
💛 You create lasting memories
💛 You show young people they matter

And that is something worth celebrating — this week and every week.

Throwing it back to 2016 and these beautifully hand‑designed fostering Christmas cards 🎄✨

Created by children, these cards are full of colour, creativity and personality — a reminder of how powerful it is to give young people space to express themselves.
Moments like this capture what fostering is all about:
💛 Encouraging creativity
💛 Building confidence
💛 Creating happy, shared memories
It’s amazing to look back and see how these small, joyful projects become part of a much bigger story.
Do you remember these cards?
