It’s one of my favourite aspects of my work, connecting with couples and helping them to feel supported with their vision for their perfect day, their way.

Welcome to another year full of Love, Loud and True 💕

And with the new year welcomed in, the 2026 nearly-weds begin their countdown…

I hope you had a beautiful and comforting festive season (and managed to steer clear of whatever lurgies have been around!). Particular congratulations if you were lucky enough to get engaged! Welcome to the community💍

It’s been a busy few months behind the scenes here, but I’m glad to be back on the face of things and meeting lots of excited to-be-weds.

If you’re considering a celebrant for your wedding or event, but aren’t sure how it might work for you, I hope to be able to sprinkle you with knowledge through this coming year, or even chat with you in person at a wedding fair or on a discovery call – speak soon!

"Our wedding ceremony must be legally binding." ❌

Not necessarily - perhaps what you mean is: "our registrar-led MARRIAGE ceremony will be legally binding" - and while the legal act of marriage is important to most people, why should the legal bit stop you from having a gloriously personalised WEDDING ceremony!?

For the process of entering a marriage, you and your partner are required to make legal declarations, sign forms, remember what your mother-in-law does for work, and complete a few other important (but boring) formalities.

Can these formalities be formulated into a ceremony and performed by a registrar at a licensed venue? Yes.

Can these formalities be performed by a registrar at an unusual or meaningful location at twilight, inviting all your loved ones to be involved in an emotional and poignant Handfasting, shouting "They fu***ng did it!" whilst cheering and escorting you beautiful newly weds off into the sunset for a forest rave? No.

But... can you complete the formalities at a registry office in the morning or on a different day, and then do all of the above with a wicked celebrant guiding you through the ultimate, unforgettable celebration of your life and love?

Just because you want to be legally married does not mean that you can't have your cake AND eat it! 🎂

🔔 Recommended Supplier: Wisp and Wonder Illustrations 🔔

The gorgeous Cat from Wisp and Wonder Illustrations offers fun and characterful live portrait artistry, a fun interactive option for your wedding or event!

I was fortunate to work with Cat recently and it was so cool to see her in action! Her set up was beautiful and in keeping with the theme of the day, plus she was so sweet and friendly to have around.

I'm also delighted to have received this cute portrait of me, perfectly capturing my celebrant mode, big ol' glasses and trusty folder!

🥂 It's wedding fair season! 🥂

There are some lovely, intimate wedding fairs coming up in the next couple of months, as well as some bigger and bustling ones, and I can't wait to meet you all there!

Top tip: if you're thinking of having a celebrant for your event, in-person meetings are a great way to get to know each other and find the perfect vibe match! 👏

📢 9 out of 10 dentists don't know what a celebrant is...

…or at least, most of the people I meet at wedding fairs don't!

Most couples automatically opt for a registrar ceremony as it is the traditional choice, and CURRENTLY, celebrants like me are not able to perform a legal marriage (but keep your ears open - marriage law reform is afoot 🤫).

However, as a registrar-led marriage ceremony is a legally-binding interaction, you'll be required to:

⚫ Hold the ceremony at a licensed premises.

⚫ Follow extremely strict rules on what words can be included.

⚫ Remove any reading or music that doesn't fit within the legal specifications.

⚫ Use pre-approved wording from limited set options.

In contrast, celebrant-led ceremonies are an increasingly popular option as they are free from any legal or traditional restraints, allowing for a completely personalised celebration You and your celebrant are free to create an unforgettable and heartfelt ceremony, full of all the things that have made you the couple you are!

Here is a list of just some of the things you can expect from your celebrant that would wouldn't be able to have with a registrar:

❤️ Hold the ceremony at any location at any time.

❤️ Include music, readings, or rituals with religious or spiritual significance.

❤️ Include readings with profanity, alcohol, or other permissive elements.

❤️ Include personal vows written by the couple, and receive guidance and help with writing them.

❤️ Offer a rehearsal and help with performance confidence.

❤️ Include thoughtful surprises for your partner or guests.

❤️ Provide a keepsake copy of your ceremony script.

This was such a fantastic day working with some brilliant suppliers, incredible models, and of course Norm, the horse! I loved the naturally gentle green and white styling; it perfectly complemented the rustic barn and made the whole setting feel so intimate and magical! 🥂🌿

Congratulations, O & C - let's make something special! 😍

These two wonderful humans have asked me to be their celebrant for their big day next Summer. They'll be tying the knot in beautiful rural Dorset surrounded by family and friends, and it's set to be a true countryside shindig!

They've already got so many amazing ideas in mind, so I cant wait to work with them over the next year to put together a beautiful celebration!

⭐ It's wedding fair time! ⭐

I'll be exhibiting at the picturesque Thornbury Golf & Lodge just outside Bristol THIS SUNDAY!

The event is organised by The Word on Weddings who have a brilliant list of suppliers in their camp, so it's sure to be a good one.
