On Saturday last as I sat with some of the fishermen Down Street, I was made aware that they are still waiting on the support from the Government to celebrate Fishermen's Birthday.
I recall how NNP enabled them by putting cold rooms at Victoria, Waltham and Duquesne, and ice machines at Victoria and Waltham.
How we gave them their checks early for Fishermen's Birthday.
I am concerned that the Government has not seen it fit to initiate the contract for the phase one of the jetty project at Waltham.
Keep on holding on Fishermen.

Reflection on Graduation – 2026

The last few days were buzzing with Graduation excitement nationwide and St. Mark’s was no exception. I was honoured to be invited to the graduation ceremony of the Coast Guard Preschool, the School for Special Education.

Then the Bonair Government School and today the Samaritan Presbyterian School.

I enjoyed them all, but some things stood out to me (caught my attention).

I observed the care and attention dedicated to the students of the School for Special Education.

I was pleased to note that two (2) of the graduates had already done some measures of job training and were looking forward to full-time employment.

The Coast Guard were well prepared for the next milestone ahead.

The Bonair Government School came a close second in performance behind the graduates themselves.

Dr. Myanna Charles delivered her usual flawless, inspiring featured address to the young minds and future representatives of the Parish.

Samaritan Presbyterian School gave one excellent of themselves.

Before minds and tongues run out of control and spew venom, let me attempt to clear the air of my non-attendance at the SMSS Graduation. I have always attended the School Graduation with great pride. Unfortunately, the invitation arrived far too late to allow fixability for scheduling adjustment.

Happy Fisherman's Birthday!

Today, I extend heartfelt appreciation to the hardworking fishermen and fisherwomen of St. Mark, Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.

Your dedication, resilience, and sacrifice are the backbone of our fishing industry and an essential part of our nation's food security and your contributions to our foreign exchange. Day after day, you brave the sea to provide for your families and communities, preserving a proud tradition that has shaped our heritage for generations.

As your Parliamentary Representative, I remain committed to advocating for continued improvements within the fisheries sector, including better landing facilities, expanded training opportunities, enhanced safety equipment, improved access to ice and storage, and greater support for sustainable fishing practices.

On this special day, I thank you for your invaluable contribution to our country. May God continue to protect you on every voyage, grant you calm seas, and bless you with abundant catches.

Happy Fisherman's Birthday, and may you enjoy a safe and wonderful celebration!

Monthly hot meals outreach in St. Mark’s. Hot meals were prepared and delivered to Seniors and shut-ins in our community.
Families going through a tough period, persons living alone.
This outreach is not charity. It’s community taking care of community.
We have and will continue to show our love and appreciation to our loved ones in our community.

I’m happy to have delivered real progress for families in Diamond, St. Mark’s.
Under the Land for the Landless Program, several St. Mark’s residents were allocated residential lots. This means young families who’ve been waiting years now have legal land to build their homes.
At the same time, we’ve completed construction of new access roads in Diamond. For too long residents had to walk through mud or risk vehicles getting stuck. These roads now connect homes to the main road, making it easier to get children to school, get to work, and for emergency vehicles to access the area.
This is what development in St. Mark’s looks like: Land in the hands of the people who need it, roads that open up the community.

I’m pleased to have been part of the many training sessions that we’ve seen completed in St. Mark’s.
This session covered:
Floral Arrangement – for events, hotels, and small business, Fish Processing – value-added products like smoked and seasoned fish for our fisherfolk and others.
The goal was simple, give St. Mark’s residents practical skills they can use to earn income without having to leave the parish.
Many thanks to several entities and the New National Party on the training delivered to the persons in St. Mark's.

“On behalf of the people of St. Mark’s, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all students who successfully completed the 2026 CPEA examinations.
Special recognition to the students, teachers, and parents of: St. Bonaire Government School and The Samaritan Presbyterian School.
You have done St. Mark’s proud. To our top achievers, well done for your discipline and focus. To every student who tried their best remember that CPEA is one step, not the final destination.
As you transition to secondary school, whether St. Mark's Secondary or elsewhere, carry the St. Mark’s spirit of resilience and community with you. Continue to read, to ask questions, and to serve your parish.
No child in St. Mark’s will be left behind.
To the teachers and parents: thank you. Your sacrifice after 3pm, on Saturdays, and during study classes made this possible. Congratulations again, Class of 2026.
