US EMBASSY DONATES TO 37 MILITARY HOSPITAL

A team from the United States Embassy in Ghana has presented medical stores to the Public Health Division of the 37 Military Hospital to aid in the fight against HIV/AIDS and COVID 19 infections.

The presentation which was made on Friday 19 August 2022 included boxes of KN 95 masks, boxes of rubbing alcohol, packs of hand sanitizer gel, non-contact infrared thermometers, dispensers with floor stands, automatic soap dispensers and fingertip pulse oximeters.

Presenting the items, the Deputy Chief for Security Cooperation, Lieutenant Commander Michael Vallianos II of the United States Navy said that the Embassy had been cooperating with the Public Health Division of the hospital through the President’s Emergency Plan for Aids Relief (PEPFAR) and Department of Defense HIV/ AIDS Prevention (DHAPP) programmes to fight against HIV and AIDS. The donation of these medical stores was therefore in line with the preexisting collaborative effort between the two institutions. Lt Cdr Vallianos II added that he hoped the items donated would help protect the staff of the hospital so they can continue to work to improve upon the health of patients.

The Commander of the Hospital, Brig Gen Azumah Bugri in receiving the items thanked the US Embassy for their benevolence, adding that the hospital was looking forward to more cooperative efforts with them.
