On Thursday, 26th June 2025, a team from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), visited the Ministry of Health Basic School at Korle-bu in Accra. The purpose of the visit was to engage pupils on the safe use of the internet and social media.

The session aimed to promote awareness among the pupils about the benefits and potential dangers of online platforms. Through an interactive discussion and age-appropriate presentation, the team encouraged the development of safe and responsible online habits. Pupils were educated on how to identify online threats, protect their personal information, and use digital platforms in a healthy and respectful manner.

A team from EOCO visited the Tema Community 1 Market where they interacted with the traders on some crime trends affecting them. Some of these included Susu Fraud, Mobile Money Fraud, Employment Scam and Human Trafficking among others.

On 7th February, 2026, the Northern Regional Office of EOCO participated in an event dubbed Romance Fraud and Substance Abuse Awareness Campaign organised by the University for Development Studies, Tamale in collaboration with the National Crime Agency (UK). The programme raised awareness on Romance Fraud and Substance Abuse.

Officers from the Narcotic Control Commission led by ANCO Mubarik Musah gave a presentation on Substance Abuse and officers from EOCO also led by DSO Bernice Agboli presented on Romance fraud.

DSO Bernice Agboli in her delivery highlighted the effect of Romance Fraud on perpetrators, victims, and Ghana as a whole. These effects include imprisonment, financial loss, and potential blacklisting of the country.

She encouraged the students to focus on their academics and avoid online criminal activities.

Also in attendance was DSP Abdul Jalil, Bawa, the officer in charge of IGP's Special Operations who served as Guest Speaker.
