The Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council The GNBCC works closely together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands in Ghana.

The Ghana Netherlands Business and Culture Council ( GNBCC) is a collaboration of the Netherlands African Business Council and the former Ghana Netherlands Chamber of Commerce and Culture. The two organizations have joined their efforts, networks and activities in the GNBCC, representing the business interests of both Ghanaian and Dutch companies.

Our first two cohorts recorded an average improvement of 90% in operational capabilities!

Marketing Desk: Two participating businesses secured more than 5 major retail opportunities, while others successfully established their brand identities and optimised their social media presence for scalable growth.

Accounting Desk: Participants successfully transitioned from manual record-keeping to automated accounting software, including QuickBooks, giving them greater control over their finances.

HR Desk: Participants developed formal employment contracts and onboarding processes, significantly reducing labour disputes and employee turnover.

𝗕𝗘𝗬𝗢𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗚𝗬 | 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲

Why do sound strategies sometimes fail to deliver results?

It was one of the questions on the table at our recent Executive Leadership Forum, organised by GNBCC in collaboration with The Capital Group Ltd. and Peoplesource Consulting, the Africa Master Partner for Management Drives.

We brought senior business leaders together at La Villa Boutique Hotel in Accra to talk about something every organisation has to deal with: the gap between having a good strategy and actually getting people to deliver it.

The evening began with an interactive conversation among participants about some of the changes leaders are dealing with today, including the growing influence of AI, changing workforce expectations and Gen Z entering and reshaping the workplace.

In her opening remarks, Hilde Famaey, General Manager of GNBCC, spoke about the importance of creating spaces where business leaders can meet, exchange experiences and have open conversations about the challenges affecting their organisations. She also welcomed The Capital Group Ltd., which joined the GNBCC community in July 2026.

Bode Olutunbi, Managing Partner and CEO of Peoplesource Consulting and Global Partner for Management Drives Africa, and Stephan van der Vat, Co-owner of Management Drives, led the session “From Strategy to Behaviour.”

They looked at what can happen between developing a strong strategy and actually putting it into practice. Their discussion focused on leadership behaviour, executive alignment, organisational culture and motivation, and how each can influence ex*****on.

They also introduced participants to the Management Drives approach, looking at how different motivations influence the way people behave, communicate, make decisions and work together.

Samuel Leslie Adetola, CEO of The Capital Group Ltd., followed with “The Leadership Team as Competitive Advantage.”

His session raised an important point: having strong individual executives does not automatically make a strong leadership team. He spoke about the role of shared priorities, trust, accountability and constructive challenge, as well as what can happen when leaders and teams work in silos.

Strong strategies provide the foundation, but it is people, leadership and organisational culture that ultimately determine whether those strategies deliver results. Engagements like these are part of GNBCC’s commitment to creating opportunities for knowledge sharing, professional development and meaningful business connections.
