Add Value to your Military Careers, Brig Gen P**a Advises Young Soldiers

Former Defence Attaché to the People's Republic of China,Brigadier General Joyce P**a has implored female Officers and Soldiers to take advantage of the prevailing environment and pursue credible civil courses and add value to their military careers.
Brig Gen P**a says Zambia Army has provided a very conducive environment that allows both Officers and Soldiers to pursue either military or civil courses as one of the ways to modernise the force and make it versatile, capable of thwarting any possible threat.
Brig Gen P**a was speaking at 1 Engineer Regiment during the ongoing sensitisation campaign of junior Officers and Soldiers aimed at enhancing adherence to military customs and etiquette.
She said that recently, there is a significant surge in leadership opportunities for female Officers and Soldiers, adding that only with credible qualifications, will they grab such opportunities.
She implored them to rise to the challenge, and obtain sound professional qualifications which will add value to their wellbeing and that of the Army.
Brig Gen P**a stated that she is alive to the fact that Command has signed a number of Memoranda of Understanding with various Universities, all in an effort to allow personnel acquire quality, and affordable education, thus the need to seize the opportunity.
And earlier, the delegation led by Director General Research and Development Branch, Brigadier General Emmanuel Choonya paid a courtesy call on 1 Engineer Regiment Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel David Tembo before talking to the female troops.
Other members of the delegation include; Director General Legal Services Branch, Col Mwizukanji Namwawa, Military Customs and Arts (MICA) Director, Col Florence Mulenga and Moral Services Director, Col Jane Kapumba.
The team has since concluded the first phase of the sensitisation campaign on the Copperbelt.
