GAF PUBLIC HEALTH TEAM PAYS COURTESY CALL ON FOC ENC
A delegation from the Ghana Armed Forces Health Services (GAFHS), led by Director of Public Health, Dr Habib Ahmed Sahnoon, paid a courtesy call on the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Eastern Naval Command (ENC), Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi on Friday, 16 January 2026, to commence preparations for an Acute Febrile Illness Study at the Command.
The team included representatives from the United States Naval Medical Research Unit (US-NAMRU) and Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research.
Commodore Asiedu-Larbi warmly welcomed the initiative, expressed appreciation for selecting ENC as a study site, and reaffirmed the Command’s full support for advancing preventive healthcare, disease surveillance, and personnel welfare, assuring complete cooperation for successful implementation.
Dr Sahnoon briefed stakeholders on the study’s objectives, scope, and modalities aimed at strengthening early disease detection and public health responses within military environments, commending ENC leadership for their partnership and anticipating a fruitful collaboration.
