The 2026 Risk Awareness Week at the Office of the Registrar of Companies is currently providing an opportunity for us to deepen our understanding of risk management and, more importantly, strengthen how we take ownership of risks across the institution.

Risk management goes beyond policies, processes and reports. It is about how we think, how we make decisions, how we take responsibility for our actions, and how early we respond when we identify issues that could affect our work.

As we continue through the week, I encourage all staff to embrace risk management as a shared responsibility and make it part of our everyday decisions and activities.

The ORC–UMB Service Point at UMB Tema Branch is set to open on 17th August 2026, bringing essential business registration and post-registration services closer to businesses and entrepreneurs in Tema.

Through this partnership with Universal Merchant Bank, customers will be able to access key ORC services at the UMB Tema Branch, including:

• Registration of Business Names & Companies
• Filing of Annual Returns & Business Name Renewals
• Changes to Business Particulars
• Reprint of Business Registration Documents

As we step into the month of August, I give thanks to God for His faithfulness and for the opportunity to continue serving the people of Ghana.

Over the past months, I have had the privilege of interacting with entrepreneurs, traders, artisans and business owners across several communities through the ORC GHANA Business Registration and Sensitization Clinics. These engagements have reaffirmed one important truth: when we bring our services closer to the people, we empower more businesses to formalize, comply and thrive.

As we continue our outreach across the country, I encourage every business owner who is yet to formalize their business to take advantage of these opportunities.

The launch of the ORC–UMB Service Point at the UMB Kasoa Branch marks the beginning of a new chapter in customer convenience. Entrepreneurs can now access a range of ORC services in a more accessible location, with additional Service Points at Labone and Tema expected to become operational soon.
